The draw for the 2023 Asian Cup will take place in May. However, up to this point, which seed group Vietnam is in is still a controversial topic.

Specifically, the AFC will determine based on the teams' rankings on the FIFA rankings (not related to the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup). Thus, with the 95th position in the world, the Vietnamese team will be pushed down to the third seed group and will be at a disadvantage in the draw for the 2023 Asian Cup.

The draw for the 2023 Asian Cup will take place on May 11. 24 teams are divided into 6 groups. The top two teams in each group and the 4 third-placed teams with the best results will advance.
According to the schedule, the 2023 Asian Cup will take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024 in Qatar.
