On the morning of April 1, the Provincial Party Standing Committee held a conference to announce the decision of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on the merger of Ha Tinh Newspaper and Ha Tinh Radio and Television Station; and decisions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on personnel work.

Attending the conference were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Ha Van Hung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Van Ky; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors and a large number of cadres and reporters of Ha Tinh Newspaper (after the merger).

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 1195-QD/TU dated March 26, 2025 on the merger of Ha Tinh Newspaper and Ha Tinh Radio and Television Station.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee Nguyen Nhu Dung announced the decisions.

Accordingly, the Provincial Party Executive Committee decided to merge Ha Tinh Newspaper and Ha Tinh Radio and Television Station into Ha Tinh Newspaper.

Ha Tinh Newspaper is a public service unit under the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, has legal status, headquarters, seal, is allowed to open accounts at the State Treasury and banks according to the provisions of law, and officially comes into operation from April 1, 2025.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai presented the decision to merge Ha Tinh Newspaper and Ha Tinh Radio and Television Station into Ha Tinh Newspaper.

Ha Tinh Newspaper implements tasks according to Project No. 14-DA/TU dated March 26, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee; based on functions, tasks, and organizational structure to arrange and assign leaders and staff of departments after the merger; build functions, tasks, and organizational structure of Ha Tinh Newspaper; transfer, receive documents, handle assets and finances (if any) according to regulations.

After the merger, the organizational structure of Ha Tinh Newspaper includes: Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief; 8 department-level focal points, a reduction of 5 department-level focal points compared to before the merger.

Provincial leaders presented the decision to appoint the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Ha Tinh Newspaper.

The conference also heard the announcement of the Standing Committee's decision on personnel work.

According to Decision 1206/QD-TU dated March 26, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee appointed comrade Nghiem Sy Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station to hold the position of Editor-in-Chief of Ha Tinh Newspaper. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also appointed the Deputy Editor-in-Chiefs of Ha Tinh Newspaper after the merger. The decisions clearly stated that the appointment period is from April 1, 2025, with a term of 5 years.

Speaking at the assignment, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung highly appreciated and acknowledged the achievements that the staff and reporters of Ha Tinh Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station had achieved in the past time. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the merger of the two agencies is an important milestone, a meaningful and necessary task to streamline the organization, improve efficiency, effectiveness and operational efficiency, and meet the requirements in the new context and new era.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee believes that although there will be many difficulties in the early period after the merger, with the tradition of solidarity, cohesion, and unity within the agency, and the high sense of responsibility of the leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers, Ha Tinh Newspaper will fulfill its tasks well, contributing to the overall development of the province.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also requested that, after the merger, Ha Tinh Newspaper needs to quickly stabilize its organization and arrange reasonable personnel; must truly innovate in leadership thinking, organizational structure, operating methods and propaganda content. It is necessary to promote the strengths of both previous agencies, both maintaining political and directional characteristics and enhancing attractiveness, modernity, timeliness and closeness to people's lives.

Ha Tinh Newspaper must become a key multimedia agency with its own identity, a team of professional, courageous, ethical and creative journalists; worthy of being the trusted voice of the Party Committee, government and people of the province.

The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee will continue to pay attention, lead, direct, and create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and resources for the development of Ha Tinh Newspaper. At the same time, it will continue to set higher and closer requirements for the quality and effectiveness of the Newspaper's operations.

Regarding the immediate tasks, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that in the context of many new tasks, the era of striving for integration, the leaders, cadres, civil servants and employees of Ha Tinh Newspaper need to fully grasp and promptly update the major policies of the Central and the province to do a good job of propaganda, reflection and orientation of public opinion; continue to comprehensively reflect the political, economic, cultural and social life of the province, increasingly better meet the information needs of the people; ensure high consensus and unity in the entire political system and all classes of people on implementing the policy of reorganizing the apparatus of the political system; propagate the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party...

In his acceptance speech, the new Editor-in-Chief of Ha Tinh Newspaper, Nghiem Sy Dong, affirmed that the merger of the two agencies into Ha Tinh Newspaper is an objective trend, meeting practical requirements and in line with the spirit of the Central and the province in streamlining the organizational apparatus.

This is also an important turning point in the next development journey of Ha Tinh Newspaper. In its new role and mission, Ha Tinh Newspaper will continue to affirm itself as the main press agency of the province, the voice of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Ha Tinh.
