On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025), on the evening of March 23, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 2024 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award Ceremony, with the theme "Glorious Mission" co-organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, and Vietnam Television.
Here, the Prime Minister asked Vietnamese Youth to carry out "3 pioneers" and "6 focuses," and together with the whole country prepare to enter a new era.
Also attending were leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, leaders of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and outstanding and promising young Vietnamese faces honored on this occasion.
Vietnamese youth are proud and firmly believe in the Party
Over the past 29 years, the Award has honored 290 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 285 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces in various fields.
After being honored, the young faces continued to strive, contribute, mature and make more positive contributions to their units, communities and countries. Many have become prestigious leaders in the political system, successful businessmen, exemplary citizens...
In 2024, the Award Organizing Committee received 159 nominations from 55 units nationwide.
The Award Council has found 10 typical young Vietnamese faces and 8 promising young Vietnamese faces with outstanding achievements in the fields of: Study; Scientific research and innovation; Labor and production; Business and start-up; National defense; Security and order; Sports; Social activities; Culture and arts; State administrative management to be honored.
Among them, two Vietnamese students Nguyen Huu Tien Hung and Than The Cong brought home prestigious international Olympic Gold Medals; two young scientists Pham Huy Hieu and Nguyen Viet Huong had valuable research, inventions and innovations.
Senior Lieutenant Hoang Khac Hieu contributed many technical solutions and practical application initiatives; Captain Nguyen Hoang Hai Quang achieved excellent results in training and combat readiness; Captain Tran Vinh Chien bravely participated in investigating and cracking down on many major drug cases.
Player Trinh Thu Vinh won the Gold Medal at the Asian and Southeast Asian Shooting Championship; young artist Nguyen Huynh Son won the “All-round Talent” and “Most Favorite Talent” awards at the “Brother Overcoming Thousands of Challenges” program; or young man Phung Quang Trung annually restores thousands of photos and portraits of heroic martyrs.
At the ceremony, outstanding young Vietnamese faces and promising young Vietnamese faces of 2024 interacted and shared many stories about their efforts, passion and responsibility, contributing to spreading positive values, inspiring and arousing the desire to contribute in today's young Vietnamese generation.
The event became emotional with the story of the family of martyr Tang Ba Hung. Before he died in storm No. 3 - Yagi, Hung wanted to have a family photo, but did not have time to do so.
On stage, Mr. Phung Quang Trung and the Skyline group presented the family with a fully reconstructed photo of the four members using AI technology.
Holding the photo in her hand, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - wife of martyr Tang Ba Hung - was moved when her family's wish came true.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy at the ceremony to honor outstanding young talents - the future owners of the country, with the mission of being the vanguard, the pioneering force and the spirit of "Vietnamese youth are proud and firmly believe in the Party" to lead the country steadily into a new era.
The Prime Minister said that more than five centuries ago, the famous scholar Than Nhan Trung affirmed that “Talent is the vital energy of the nation.” In the thousands of years of glorious history of building and defending the nation, every period has marked the great contributions of talented people, many of whom have nurtured their minds, trained their wills, and built great ambitions since they were young.
From the time of the Hung Kings who founded the country, to the heroic history of Saint Giong, Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao, Tran Quoc Toan, Nguyen Trai, Le Loi, Quang Trung, to the Ho Chi Minh era, in the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the youth have always been the vanguard force, leading the way, not afraid of difficulties, hardships, sacrifices, ready to contribute their talents and intelligence, for the independence, freedom and eternal development of the nation, for the happiness and prosperity of the people.
Reiterating President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that "Youth are the future masters of the country," the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State always attach special importance to the role of youth and have many policies and guidelines, creating favorable conditions and encouraging young people and young talents to be ready to take the lead in contributing to the cause of national construction, development and defense.
The Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the Central Youth Union's continuous efforts in concretizing the Party and State's policies on youth development, discovering and nurturing young talents, and training high-quality human resources for the country.
The "Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces" Award is an initiative with high impact and special significance. It is a noble reward honoring typical young people with outstanding achievements in building and defending the Fatherland.
The award also motivates the development of young talents and promotes the emulation movement of studying, training, scientific research, labor, creativity... among young people; consolidates and develops the Youth Union, Association, and Team; attracts the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society to the cause of education, nurturing and honoring the young generation.
Reviewing the 29-year history of the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award, the Prime Minister was pleased to learn that this year's Award with 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 8 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces continues to have a wide and strong influence, creating prestige in the community, honoring young people with outstanding achievements in various areas of social life such as: study, production, scientific research, creativity, culture and arts, physical education, sports, national security and defense, and volunteering for the community.
The Prime Minister warmly commended and congratulated the outstanding young people who were awarded the Prize today and all Vietnamese youth - those who are striving day and night, overcoming difficulties to rise up with compatriots and soldiers nationwide, with a high sense of responsibility, iron will, steadfast determination, through practical and concrete actions and deeds, contributing to building, developing the country and protecting the Fatherland...
Clear heart - Bright mind - Great ambition
The year 2025 is of special importance, being the year of many important events of the country; focusing on arranging the organizational apparatus, organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; promoting the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; striving to achieve an economic growth rate of 8% or more to successfully implement the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025; creating momentum, creating a double-digit growth in the period 2026-2030 and the following period, contributing to the successful implementation of the 2 100-year strategic goals...
Therefore, the Prime Minister asked what Vietnamese youth should do in the context of the country facing a historical moment when it must make historic decisions to prepare to enter a new era.
According to the Prime Minister, under the glorious flag of the Party and the heroic history of thousands of years of civilization of the nation, together with compatriots and soldiers nationwide, Vietnamese youth must strive with all their might; once determined, then be even more determined, once striving, then strive even harder, once acting decisively, then act even more decisively; work with focus and key points, complete each task, and complete each task.
Young people must have the mindset of "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning the impossible into possible;" focusing on performing tasks in the spirit of "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear authority, clear time, clear results," contributing with the whole country to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, for the cause of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
The Party, the State and the people trust and have great expectations for the contributions of the Vietnamese Youth of the new era in this glorious cause, as General Secretary To Lam said: “The Party and the State always place deep trust in the youth force, always put the youth at the center of many major issues of the country; consider the youth as the key factor in shaping and developing the future of the country; consider the growth of the youth as the success of the Party, the victory of the revolutionary cause, the longevity of the nation.”
The Prime Minister hopes that outstanding young Vietnamese faces in particular, and Vietnamese youth in general, will continue to promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, passion, and dedication of youth, dare to think, dare to do, dare to commit, dare to overcome their own limits, constantly strive to rise up, realize their aspirations, dreams, ambitions, and ideals; and well implement the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho: "Nothing is difficult - Only fear that the heart is not steadfast - Digging mountains and filling seas - Determination will make it happen."
The Prime Minister requested the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation to launch practical, effective, and deeply humane emulation movements with specific programs, plans, tasks, and solutions to further promote the role, contributions, and dedication of young people in all fields. The Prime Minister hoped that Vietnamese youth would focus on “3 pioneers” and “6 key areas.”
That is: Pioneering in innovative thinking and strategic vision, looking far and wide, thinking deeply, doing big; valuing time, intelligence and decisiveness, being on time with unlimited creativity and dedication.
Next is to pioneer in developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation; create breakthrough projects and products, promote labor productivity, and create Vietnamese "Unicorn Startups".
Third, it is a pioneer in nationalizing human civilization in our country and internationalizing the advanced culture imbued with the national identity of the Vietnamese people to the world.
Along with that, the youth focus on 6 key points: Carrying out assigned political tasks, with innovation in content and methods of operation, promptly grasping the legitimate needs and aspirations of the youth, especially promoting the role and contribution of the youth in implementing 3 strategic breakthroughs in institutions, human resources, strategic infrastructure and promoting the cause of industrialization, modernization and international integration.
Next is to focus on reorganizing the apparatus, contributing to building a lean, compact, strong, efficient, effective and efficient political system; promoting administrative reform, especially administrative procedures, reducing inconvenience, harassment and compliance costs for people and businesses; promoting growth by further promoting youth, intelligence, enthusiasm, creativity, and taking the lead in labor, production and business in all fields and localities.
Young people actively participate in the program "Accompanying young people to start a business and establish a career"; constantly innovate their thinking and working methods, contributing to improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy and promoting growth to achieve the set goals.
The Prime Minister hopes that Vietnamese youth must focus on implementing social justice and progress, ensuring social security, improving people's lives, concretizing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on social security, especially equal access to education and healthcare in all regions of the country, reaching every community, every family and every person, especially in mountainous areas, remote areas, border areas and islands with the spirit of "leaving no one behind."
Young people must promote international integration; further promote their pioneering role in implementing the policy of building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with promoting deep, substantive and effective international integration; focus on learning foreign languages, becoming digital citizens, global citizens; contribute to mobilizing and effectively using external resources in terms of capital, science and technology, business management skills, national governance, high-quality human resources, exploring and promoting markets for Vietnamese branded products to participate in regional and global value chains.
Vietnamese youth must work together to strengthen national defense and security, ensure social order and safety; be ready to contribute and sacrifice for the country, and firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
The Prime Minister requested that all levels, sectors, localities and the whole society continue to pay attention, create favorable conditions, and pay attention to building the best mechanisms and policies for Vietnamese youth to develop comprehensively and comprehensively, contributing to the country, with the spirit of the whole country sharing and accompanying the young generation, investing in the young generation, investing in talented young people is investing in sustainable development, investing in the future.
Stating President Ho Chi Minh's advice: "A year begins in spring. A life begins in youth. Youth is the spring of society" and "Must not be afraid of hardship, not afraid of difficulties, wherever there is a need for youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is youth," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes and believes that today's young generation of Vietnam will promote the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, unity, and unanimity, be the vanguard force, the reliable reserve force and the trust of the Party, always carrying within themselves the will, aspirations, and enthusiasm of youth "Pure heart - Bright mind - Great ambition."
