On the evening of March 21, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team entered the final of the 4-person event against Thailand.

In the first game, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team started better and at one point led their opponent by 5 points.
After that, despite Thailand continuously narrowing the gap, the Vietnamese girls still won 15-12 in the first game.
With that good start, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team played very proactively in the second game. However, we still lost 12-15 and were tied 1-1.
In the final game, both teams entered the game with great determination, aiming to win.
In the end, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team defeated Thailand with a score of 15-13, thereby winning 2-1 and winning the World Cup 4-a-side event.
Notably, this is the first time in history that the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team has won the world championship.
The World Cup is the only world tournament organized by the International Sepak Takraw Federation (ISTAF), first held in 2011, now in its 5th edition.
In the previous 4 editions, Vietnam won 5 silver medals, but never won the championship. Thailand leads with 9 gold medals, Malaysia 2 and India 1.
This year’s tournament took place at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Bihar state (India) from March 20 to March 25. About 300 players and coaches from 20 teams participated in the tournament, playing a total of 150 matches over 6 days.
The competitions include 4-person (quad), 3-person (regu) and 2-person (double) for men and women. The remaining event is 4-person mixed (men and women compete together).
