Two investment projects to build Long Thanh International Airport and the T3 passenger terminal project at Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be constructed during Tet to ensure progress.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan and leaders of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) recently visited and encouraged contractors, workers, officers, specialists and engineers working at the Long Thanh International Airport construction project.
Mr. Duong Quang Dien, Deputy Head of Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board, said: In 2024, the main items of component project 3 - Long Thanh International Airport Project Phase 1 have been started, deployed simultaneously and are closely following the set schedule.
Thoroughly implementing the Prime Minister's working spirit of "3 shifts and 4 shifts", "working through holidays and days off", up to now, the project has achieved positive results.
The Long Thanh International Airport construction site is bustling with hundreds of construction teams, more than 6,000 experts, engineers, workers, and more than 2,700 construction equipment.
Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board and contractors have developed a plan and construction method at the construction site during the Lunar New Year 2025 with more than 4,000 personnel and 2,000 machines and equipment.
Affirming that the construction during Tet still ensures taking care of the workers' lives so that everyone can have a complete and meaningful new spring at the key construction site, the representative of the Joint Venture of construction contractors at the project informed that the units have disseminated the tasks, provided salary and bonus levels, and benefits to promptly encourage workers to confidently complete the assigned work well.
Expressing pride in the milestones achieved by the Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 construction project, ACV Deputy General Director Nguyen Tien Viet said that the project has achieved many important milestones, from completing the initial infrastructure to implementing construction and installing equipment for the project's packages. Up to now, the shape of Long Thanh International Airport has clearly appeared.
"This is the result of the hard work, intelligence, tireless efforts and dedication of each individual, a testament to the mettle, creativity and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges of everyone participating in building the project," Mr. Tien emphasized.
However, ACV leaders require everyone to remain united, make more efforts and be more determined to speed up the construction progress, striving to complete on schedule for each construction item and the entire project.
At the construction site of the T3 Passenger Terminal Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Mr. Le Khac Hong, Director of the T3 Passenger Terminal Project Management Board - Tan Son Nhat International Airport, said that up to now, the rough construction of the project has been 100% completed.
Contractors are speeding up the completion of architecture, construction, interior and equipment installation. The total volume has been completed about 88% and the progress is under control. The project is expected to be completed about 2 months ahead of schedule.
To ensure progress, during the 2025 Lunar New Year, ACV and the consortium of contractors have agreed to maintain 70% of construction personnel and machinery. The contractor is committed to working throughout the Lunar New Year to complete the final stages of the project in time for the April 30 holiday, ensuring compliance with quality, technical, environmental and safety standards for workers throughout the construction process and when put into operation.
Praising the working spirit of the staff, engineers and workers working at the project, ACV Trade Union Chairman Le Kha Truong affirmed that it was thanks to the solidarity and tireless efforts of the workers that helped overcome difficulties and achieve proud results.
