"Q MANAGEMENT" OF STUDENTS' HEALTH AND SAFETY EVEN DURING TET HOLIDAY
Based on the fact that each class has a group to connect and exchange information on social networks, the homeroom teachers and students of Tay Thanh High School (Tan Phu District) made an appointment during the Tet holiday. Every day, during family activities, all members can take and send photos to the group to share and spread. Mr. Nguyen Quang Dat, Principal of Tay Thanh High School, said that the school encourages teachers and students to always stay connected with each other, not that students returning home from Tet holiday means that the teachers or the school "lose their responsibility".
Students of Chu Van An Continuing Education Center (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) can go to school to play during Tet holiday.
"Teacher and students sharing pictures of their fun and traditional activities during Tet with their families is also a way for teachers to "manage" the health and safety of their students. Such regular connections will help the atmosphere of returning to school after a long Tet holiday not make students feel disappointed because every day they still live in a collective classroom environment with teachers and friends," Mr. Dat shared.
Similarly, an experiential activity called "Family on Tet holiday" was launched among teachers and students of Duong Van Thi High School (Thu Duc City). The Tet holiday playground encourages students to join their relatives in decorating the house, preparing family meals or wishing grandparents and parents a happy new year... In each of these traditional activities, students can take photos or record short videos recording the moments of their family reunion and send them to the class group.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, the school’s principal, believes that this is a way for students and teachers to share and connect with each other. Every day, even though they are not in class, students can exchange and discuss with each other, helping to maintain the group’s emotions and feelings. This nurturing will help teachers and students look forward to returning to school after the Tet holiday.
Schools organize many Tet activities for students
SCHOOLS ARE OPEN DURING TET HOLIDAY FOR STUDENTS TO HAVE FUN
Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1) announced that it will be closed for Tet but the school will still be open to welcome students to read books and play sports. Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, the school's principal, said that with the current facilities, starting from February 5 to 18, that is, during the entire Tet holiday according to regulations, every day, students can come to school to play soccer, basketball, volleyball or go to the library to read books...
The principal of Bui Thi Xuan High School said that the reason the school maintains an environment for students to play and participate in collective activities comes from the fact that, besides the time spent visiting and wishing their relatives a happy new year, most of their free time is spent eating, sleeping, and some even play games... Therefore, the school wants to create a dynamic space for students to participate in sports activities to release energy.
Similarly, the Board of Directors of Ernst Thälmann High School (District 1) said that during the Tet holidays, the school will still be open for students to play and participate in sports activities. The school library will be open to welcome students on the days before and after Tet. Clubs and groups will still organize exchange and volunteer activities, give banh chung to the lonely and disadvantaged; give Tet gifts to children at Children's Hospital 2, visit shelters, etc.
Based on the fact that many students at Chu Van An Continuing Education Center (District 5) have difficult family circumstances, children of self-employed families, and their relatives are busy making a living during the days before Tet, the center always opens its gates to welcome students to participate in activities, practice sports, and participate in group activities. "Students who love sports can play table tennis, badminton, basketball; students who are passionate about photography and painting can come to school to use the miniature landscapes decorated in the center's campus as props...", Mr. Do Minh Hoang, Director of Chu Van An Continuing Education Center (District 5), shared.
Mr. Do Minh Hoang said that the school always wants to share and hold hands with its students at all times. Therefore, connecting with students is always the goal that schools aim for, especially during the joyful days of spring.
Award scholarships, create the will to rise up
"A little spring sentiment" is a talk and sharing program organized by Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) during the Lunar New Year holiday. Accordingly, 66 disadvantaged students of the school will receive scholarships of 2 - 5 million VND/student along with gifts of necessities for use during the holiday, totaling about 200 million VND. All of the above support funds are donated by teachers and parents with kind hearts to share with students.
In addition, during this year-end meeting, scholarship students will have the opportunity to meet teachers who had difficult childhoods but had the will to become teachers like today. The teachers share to motivate students to be more optimistic and have the will to rise up in life.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, the school's principal, said that the emotional space will help students reduce difficulties so that they can have a happy and emotional Tet holiday, creating joy and warmth between teachers and students, and the feelings of parents and students for their children.
Ensuring student safety
This is the content deployed by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to thousands of schools during the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to Mr. Duong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, schools need to review the organization of commitments between parents (or guardians) of students and the school not to give motorbikes to students without a driver's license or under the legal age; and to commit to wearing helmets for students when riding motorbikes, scooters, and electric two-wheeled vehicles.
Educational institutions should step up propaganda and mobilize management staff, teachers, workers and students to strictly comply with traffic safety laws, obey the commands and instructions of the authorities; yield to and help each other; proactively participate in safe traffic and follow the regulations: do not drive after drinking alcohol or beer; do not speed or overtake recklessly; do not carry more people than the prescribed number; wear standard helmets when riding motorbikes, scooters, electric bicycles; prevent accidents at railway and inland waterway level crossings; do not use phones while driving...
According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the school has strengthened propaganda work for cadres, teachers, employees and educated students to practice civilized lifestyle, maintain social order, strictly implement regulations on management and use of fireworks, not participate in social evils, not let violations related to fireworks, traffic safety and order occur; improve skills in preventing and combating accidents and injuries at the unit during Tet.
In addition, schools need to coordinate communication on ensuring food safety during Tet and the festival season among cadres, teachers, employees and students. Specifically, do not buy food from unsafe production and business establishments; do not buy food products of unknown origin, with signs of spoilage, mold, or spoilage. Do not buy or store too much food during Tet to avoid using products that are not fresh, have lost their nutrients, or are moldy. Effectively implement disease prevention and hygiene activities, ensure food safety, provide enough drinking water, clean water and regularly clean the environment at educational institutions and schools; organize propaganda, education, and raise awareness of students, cadres, and teachers about disease prevention and control measures...
