The US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan will visit Da Nang and conduct friendly exchange activities from June 25, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang said at a press conference on June 22 that the US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan will visit Da Nang from June 25-30.
"Recently, Vietnam has welcomed visits from naval ships of various countries, including the USS Ronald Reagan on this occasion. This is a normal exchange and friendship activity, for peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region as well as the world," said Ms. Hang.

USNI News of the US Naval Institute reported on June 19 that the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and the guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam entered the East Sea to refuel and resupply.
USS Ronald Reagan is an American aircraft carrier permanently deployed in the Asia-Pacific region. The ship has a displacement of 97,000 tons, is 333 m long, and has a crew of about 5,000. The ship belongs to the US Navy's 7th Fleet, with its main base at Yokosuka naval port, Japan.
This is the third time a US aircraft carrier has visited Da Nang. The first visit took place in March 2018 with the USS Carl Vinson. The most recent visit will take place in March 2022 with the USS Theodore Roosevelt on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the normalization of relations between Vietnam and the US.
