The crew of the training ship Suzunami and officers and soldiers of relevant units of Vietnam in Da Nang pay a courtesy visit at the ship welcoming ceremony.
Welcoming the training ship Suzunami of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force were representatives of leaders of departments and branches of Da Nang City, the Naval Region 3 Command, representatives of the Military Region 5 Command and representatives of the Foreign Affairs Department (Ministry of National Defense).
This visit aims to strengthen cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Japanese Ministry of Defense in general, and between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in particular.
This is one of the defense cooperation activities to contribute to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region.

During the visit from March 31 to April 3, the Suzunami ship command group will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee and the Naval Region 3 Command. In addition, the delegation will participate in exchange activities with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3, conduct joint training, carry out a number of maritime service activities as well as visit historical and cultural relics in Da Nang city.

Previously, in February 2022, a long-distance training fleet of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, including the training ship Hatakaze and the frigate Inazuma with nearly 480 officers and sailors, also visited Da Nang to promote bilateral defense cooperation between the two countries.
This visit of the Suzunami ship continues to affirm the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the defense field, while opening up many opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the future.
