On October 23, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism announced that the Coral Princess cruise ship (Bermuda nationality) docked at Cam Ranh international port on a cruise taking tourists along the coast of Vietnam.

After arriving at Cam Ranh international port, tourists visited Nha Trang city and Dien Khanh district with tours such as: Visiting relics and scenic spots of Nha Trang city, visiting Nha Trang city center by cyclo, countryside tour, countryside bike tour, boat tour on Cai river...

According to a report from the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, since the beginning of the year, Khanh Hoa has welcomed 27 international cruise ships with more than 55,500 passengers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Department of Tourism said: "We hope that cruise lines will continue to bring ships to Cam Ranh international port to visit Nha Trang as planned.

In the long term, the tourism industry will research and develop tourism products to serve cruise ship tourists arriving at Cam Ranh international port.

Regarding solutions to overcome difficulties in receiving cruise ships to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that currently only Cam Ranh international port is qualified to receive cruise ships.

In the long term, Khanh Hoa Province Department of Transport will coordinate with a number of related units to complete necessary procedures to soon put Ana Marina Nha Trang Marina into operation to welcome cruise ship tourists.

"We request Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company to have an investment plan to upgrade the port so that it can soon be put into operation to welcome visitors again; assign the Department of Tourism to coordinate with the People's Committee of Cam Lam district and Cam Ranh city to research and develop tourism products to serve cruise ship tourists arriving at Cam Ranh international port," said Mr. Thieu.

It is known that Cam Ranh international port has a total length of 2,147m including two wharves that can receive passenger ships up to 226,000GT.

The port is 5 nautical miles from the international shipping route; the anchorage area in front of the port with an area of ​​303 hectares is located in the wind-sheltered Binh Ba lagoon, ensuring year-round maritime activities.

During the period 2016 - 2017, Cam Ranh international port welcomed many large ships such as: Legend of The Seas, SuperStar Vigor, Mariner of The Seas, Genting Dream, World Dream.
