BTO-On July 22, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center organized an online training course on “Sustainable rice cultivation process”. Attending at the connecting points were more than 100 people, cooperatives, rice production farms in key areas of the province including Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Tanh Linh, Duc Linh and community agricultural extension groups on rice production. The lecturer was Professor - Dr. Nguyen Bao Ve, Former Head of the Faculty of Agriculture, Can Tho University.
At the training course, the lecturer shared with the trainees the process of sustainable rice cultivation. He emphasized the rice cultivation method of “1 must 5 reductions”; the alternating wet and dry method; rice cultivation to reduce emissions and aim to obtain carbon credits.
In addition, the training course also discussed related contents and orientations for sustainable rice development. It is known that in the province, there are currently 5 key rice growing districts: Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Duc Linh and Tanh Linh, with an area of over 120,000 hectares of commercial rice each year.
In recent times, the Agricultural Extension Center has organized many training courses for community agricultural extension groups on digital transformation; the role of community agricultural extension groups in building new rural areas; techniques for caring for crops and livestock, etc. Thereby, aiming to implement the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on developing high-quality commercial rice production areas in the province by 2025.
According to the Binh Thuan Agricultural Extension Center, through the training course, the unit will transfer scientific and technological advances to cooperatives and rice-growing households. The motto is to take the community agricultural extension team as the core to train and convey to businesses, cooperatives and rice-growing households in the province. The purpose is to gradually shift from traditional direct training methods to applying digital technology and digital transformation to create opportunities for many households to access and participate anytime, anywhere, reducing costs...
