Kinhtedothi - According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, at the 8th Session, the National Assembly reviewed and decided on a huge amount of work, including many difficult and complicated issues related to many sectors, fields and practices that are urgently needed.
The session has a lot of content on legislative work.
In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that after 29.5 days of serious, scientific, democratic and highly responsible work, with the spirit of innovation, timely removal of difficulties and obstacles, overcoming bottlenecks, clearing resources, focusing highly on serving socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and improving people's lives, the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly has completed all the contents of the proposed program.
According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, at the 8th session, the National Assembly considered and decided on a huge amount of work, including many difficult and complicated issues related to many sectors, fields and practices that are urgently needed. This is a session with a large amount of content on legislative work. Based on careful and thorough consideration, with the spirit of innovation in law-making; innovation in coordination between the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Government; innovation in coordination between the drafting agency and the reviewing agency in the process of drafting laws and resolutions; the National Assembly voted to pass 18 laws with a high approval rate. The National Assembly also considered and passed 21 resolutions, including 4 legal resolutions.
Along with that, the National Assembly discussed the Government's reports on the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget for 2024 and reviewed and decided on the socio-economic development plan, the state budget estimate, the central budget allocation plan for 2025 and many reports and projects on urgent issues, serving the national economy and people's livelihood, maximizing resources and development opportunities.
The National Assembly reviewed the report and passed the Resolution on thematic supervision of “the implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to 2023”; discussed the report summarizing opinions and recommendations of voters and the People; the results of supervision of the settlement of voters’ recommendations and a number of other important reports. The National Assembly conducted questions and answers in 3 areas: Banking, Health, Information and Communications.
In addition, personnel work has been carried out strictly in accordance with Party regulations and State laws; the National Assembly has elected the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; elected members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Secretary General of the National Assembly; approved the appointment of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Transport; Judges of the Supreme People's Court; and at the same time carried out other personnel work within its authority and achieved high consensus and unanimity among National Assembly deputies.
“The National Assembly acknowledges and appreciates the determination, tireless efforts and effective innovations in the direction and administration of the Government; the drastic participation of localities; therefore, in the context of the country facing many difficulties and challenges, with unexpected events that are difficult to predict, such as natural disasters, storms and floods, the socio-economic development tasks for 2024 have been basically completed,” emphasized National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Urgently build legal corridors for new issues
According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the National Assembly also analyzed and frankly pointed out the difficulties, challenges, and shortcomings of the economy and proposed many specific solutions. It is recommended that the Government study and absorb the opinions of National Assembly deputies to promptly and effectively implement the commitments made to the National Assembly, voters, and people nationwide. Continue to closely follow the practical situation, improve the capacity to analyze, forecast, and respond to policies promptly, have effective solutions, and strive to achieve the highest level of the 2025 Socio-Economic Development Plan and the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The National Assembly requests the Government, agencies of the National Assembly, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit and relevant agencies to focus on directing, thoroughly grasping and promptly issuing detailed regulations and effectively implementing the laws and resolutions recently passed by the National Assembly. At the same time, regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness and quality of policies after promulgation to promptly adjust, supplement and amend; proactively, actively and urgently build a legal corridor for new issues and new trends, creating breakthroughs in national development.
Emphasizing the success of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that entering 2025, a year of great significance in successfully implementing the tasks of the 2021-2026 term; in the spirit of the Resolution of the 10th Central Party Conference, 13th tenure, including the urgent requirement of the work of arranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system, meeting the requirements and tasks of the country in the new period; the important speech of General Secretary To Lam at the opening session of the Session as well as the recent directions of the General Secretary on the work of preventing corruption, waste and negativity.
The National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, the National Assembly Committees, the National Assembly Office, and the agencies under the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to strongly innovate, urgently arrange and consolidate the "lean, compact, strong" organizational apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, associated with restructuring the contingent of qualified and capable officials on par with the tasks; accompany the Government, agencies and organizations in the political system, strive to achieve the highest socio-economic development goals in 2025, contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, best prepare for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, creating the best premise for the strong innovation and development of the nation in the new era.
