The funeral of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, starting from 07:00 to 22:00 on July 25, 2024 and from 07:00 to 13:00 on July 26, 2024.
The memorial service for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024 at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
Funeral at 3:00 p.m. the same day at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi city.
The funeral and memorial service for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at the same time at Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City and at his hometown in Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city.
Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam will broadcast live the funeral, memorial service and burial ceremony of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
During the two days of National Mourning (July 25 and July 26, 2024), agencies, offices, and public places will fly flags at half-mast and no public entertainment activities will be organized.
* On July 24, Hanoi City Police said that in order to organize the State Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong solemnly and serve organizations, agencies, businesses and people to pay their respects conveniently, Dong Anh District Police announced the diversion of roads to the place where the Funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will be held at the Cultural House of Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune (Dong Anh, Hanoi).
Specifically, Dong Anh District Police and relevant authorities will organize traffic flow from 2:00 p.m. on July 24 to the end of July 26. The route that prohibits all types of vehicles includes: From under the Lai Da village underpass - the main road in the middle of Lai Da village - the end of Trai hamlet, Lai Da. Free vehicle parking for visitors is located in the area along Truong Sa road in front of Eurowindow Apartment Complex (Dong Tru, Dong Hoi). After parking, people will walk into the funeral area following the directions.
The Organizing Committee provides free electric cars for the elderly, the disabled, and those in poor health to visit. Dong Hoi Street, Ta Hong Dike Road from Trung Thon Village Gate to Dong Tru Village Gate, and from Dong Tru Bridge to Dong Ngan Village are prohibited for cars. In addition, to ensure security and safety according to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Security, people are requested to bring their ID cards with chips (or phones with VNeID installed) to scan QR codes at the checkpoints.
According to the announcement of the People's Committee of Dong Anh district, organizations and individuals who register to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong need to register according to the form to summarize and report to the Organizing Committee to arrange a specific visit schedule at a suitable time. The visiting delegations proactively print a black ribbon to attach to the wreath (a black cloth ribbon measuring 1.2m x 0.2m, with the white words "Respectfully visited", below is a small line with the name of the agency, organization or individual).
In particular, the family wishes to be exempted from paying money, fruit, condolence offerings, and funeral rites from organizations and individuals when visiting. Men should wear dark suits, long-sleeved white shirts, black ties, and black shoes; women should wear black ao dai or dark-colored shirts, and black shoes or sandals. Dong Anh District also requests that groups arrange to share vehicles to reduce traffic pressure.
