SENDING STUDENTS ABROAD FOR TRAINING
In addition to inviting foreign professors to teach AI, some schools also send students to study abroad for semesters.

Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh, Head of the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), said that the AI bachelor's program will start in 2022 with an enrollment of 40 students per year. Since then, this major has received great attention from society. Admission scores by various methods are always at the top of the university's training majors.
In the coming period, Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh said that the school will consider expanding the training scale of the program to suit social needs and the school's capacity. At the same time, it will update the training program and subject content, ensuring that students are equipped with a solid foundation and modern professional knowledge and skills.
Professor Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said that the school has enrolled students in the AI engineering program for two courses with two programs: robotics and AI, intelligent control and automation. Students studying these programs are all able to attend semesters in Japan, Korea, Thailand, etc. to study and acquire knowledge as well as updated equipment. "The faculty teaching these programs at the school all have foreign doctoral degrees. In addition, professors from foreign universities and experts from large corporations also participate in teaching support," Professor Thinh added.
Regarding the orientation for the coming period, Professor Thinh believes that training high-tech human resources to meet social needs is an urgent task, especially in the field of AI. In addition to AI training programs, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics also includes AI in teaching for all other majors or integrates it into related courses. This helps students approach and master modern technology as well as promote creativity and lead new trends.
INCREASE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, students can practice and implement real projects in the lab system with the latest software; participate in academic competitions such as AI Challenge, Robotics competition... or seminars with experts to consolidate the knowledge they have learned and update new trends. In addition, students can also visit businesses to gain practical knowledge about AI applications in life.
Focusing on application, Hoa Sen University's AI-related majors have established a network of connections with domestic and foreign enterprises in the field of information technology in general and AI in particular to help students gain practical experience. "Workshops, seminars and competitions organized by the school and faculty also help students accumulate knowledge and develop their skills," said Dr. Le Dinh Phong, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology at Hoa Sen University.
According to Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, Duy Tan University has also invested in building AI labs and laboratories with many software and hardware tools. "Students have the opportunity to practice directly on real projects, cooperate with AI businesses to solve practical problems. In addition, hackathon programs, workshops and seminars also help students improve their ability to solve problems quickly and creatively," Dr. Hai informed.

INVESTMENT IN EQUIPMENT
According to Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh, in order to prepare for training high-quality human resources in the field of AI, the University of Information Technology has invested in and upgraded equipment and computing infrastructure for research and learning, such as NVIDIA super servers, robots and AI experimental equipment. Notably, the school has developed special recruitment programs to attract highly qualified research and teaching personnel; at the same time, it supports lecturers in continuously improving their qualifications. In addition, the school also cooperates with domestic and international schools, institutes and technology companies in training activities, scientific research, exchange activities and internships.
Professor Nguyen Truong Thinh also said that Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has invested in fully equipped laboratories to meet the learning and research needs of lecturers and students from basic to advanced levels.

Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, said that AI training at educational institutions is currently supported by modern technology resources and facilities. "The school invests heavily in research centers such as AI Lab, equipped with social interactive robots SIUBOT, and advanced computer rooms to create optimal conditions for students to practice and research. In addition, the diverse academic environment with specialized clubs such as Artificial Intelligence Club, Information Security Club, and Informatics Olympic Club, provides opportunities for students to interact with real-life problems, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills," shared Master Tu.
AI is one of the core technologies
The draft framework for the science and technology program for AI application research at Ho Chi Minh City National University until 2030 identifies AI as one of the core technologies in building creative urban areas, smart cities, and promoting digital economic development. In addition to training and technology development, the University also aims to have 150 articles in international journals ranked Q1 or prestigious conferences, aiming to have 10 international intellectual property certificates, 50 domestic inventions/utility solutions and 100 software copyrights, 5 semiconductor integrated circuit layout designs for AI chips. To achieve the above targets, Ho Chi Minh City National University will form and train at least 20 potential research groups in the field of AI.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the Master Plan for training international-level human resources in 8 industries for the period 2020-2035. In which, the project for training international-level human resources in the AI industry was assigned to the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) to implement.
