The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a Directive to strengthen safety measures for information, navigation and surveillance systems and equipment during the peak period of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Accordingly, in order to ensure the safety of flight operations during the Lunar New Year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), Air Traffic Management Engineering Company Limited, and Van Don International Airport to review all licenses for operating CNS systems and equipment (information, navigation, aviation surveillance), and frequency licenses for operating CNS systems and equipment in use.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested units to strengthen inspection and monitoring of the operating status of CNS systems and equipment (Illustration photo).
Units must ensure that all mining licenses are still valid and ensure continuous operation. At the same time, make a list of CNS systems and equipment currently operating at their unit, along with relevant information about the mining license, including the validity of the license. Absolutely do not allow cases of expired licenses to affect mining safety.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested units to strengthen inspection and monitoring of the operating status of CNS systems and equipment to promptly detect potential technical risks and dangers in order to have timely handling and response plans, ensuring safety for flight operations.
At the same time, ensure that all CNS system operators have valid qualifications. Timely renew or reissue qualifications in accordance with regulations. Absolutely do not let expired qualifications affect operational safety.
For the licensing procedure, units need to submit applications for licensing or extension of operating licenses within the prescribed time limit, strictly complying with administrative procedures under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and related regulations.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also assigned the Northern, Central and Southern Airports Authorities to strengthen the review and inspection of compliance with regulations related to operating licenses of units operating CNS systems and equipment.
Strictly handle violations of license delays. Violations must be fully recorded, the causes and responsibilities of the relevant parties must be clarified depending on the level of violation, and handling measures must be applied according to current regulations. Units must regularly report the situation and handling results to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for timely guidance.
