(NLDO)- Two Vietnamese Airlines flights were directly affected due to the closure of Heathrow Airport (London, UK), and many flights were affected in a chain reaction.
Due to the fire that forced Heathrow Airport (UK) to close on March 21, flight VN55 from Hanoi to London had to divert to land at Munich Airport (Germany).

At the same time, flight VN56 from London to Hanoi also had to change its operating time. Vietnam Airlines said it will update the operating plan for these two flights when there is new announcement.
According to the airline, this could have a knock-on effect on the schedules of a number of other flights.

International media reported that Europe's largest airport, Heathrow (London, UK), had to close completely on March 21 due to a fire at a transformer station in Hayes, about 2.5 km from Heathrow Airport, causing a power outage in the area.
Heathrow is the UK's busiest airport, with a plane taking off or landing every 45 seconds. Flights scheduled to land at Heathrow have been diverted. Flight tracking website Flightradar24 said the closure affected at least 1,351 flights and around 145,000 passengers.
