Thanks to skyrocketing stock prices, Mark Zuckerberg's net worth has increased nearly sixfold in just two years, to $201 billion.

According to Bloomberg , this is the first time he has more than 200 billion USD in hand. In the list of the 500 richest billionaires in the world, the Meta boss is only behind Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault.

While other tech moguls will see their net worths soar in 2024, none will be as rich as Zuckerberg. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, for example, will see his net worth double to $102.6 billion.

Meta CEO has added $73.4 billion to his fortune since Jan. 1, thanks to a 13% rise in Meta shares. The stock closed at an all-time high last week and is up 60% this year.

This is in stark contrast to 2022, when Meta shares and Zuckerberg's net worth plummeted after the company underwent major changes, including changing its name from Facebook to Meta and investing heavily in virtual space.

At the time, Meta struggled to find a foothold in the short-form video market dominated by TikTok. Now, investors say the pivot from Facebook to Meta is finally paying off as the company increasingly relies on its Orion augmented reality glasses.

Combining hardware improvements over the past five years and advances in AI, Orion represents Meta's shift from a social networking company to a virtual space company, according to analysts at JP Morgan.

Meta is laying off tens of thousands of employees, reducing its global workforce by 25% starting in 2022. Facebook's parent company is taking steps to improve its stock performance, including a $50 billion buyback program and its first-ever dividend.

The company is also not missing out on the AI ​​wave, spending heavily on data centers and computing power, Zuckerberg is working to build a leading position in the industry. Recently, Meta announced that it will continue to invest in AI content creators.

Along with that, Zuckerberg’s public image has changed 180 degrees compared to two years ago. Once considered a pure techie, the 40-year-old CEO has started practicing sports like surfing and martial arts. He also recently caused a stir when he erected a statue of his wife in his garden.
