Saying this because at the end of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City was only in the top 10 of the rankings and not in the top position. The results at that time more or less raised many questions for the unit that has a tradition of being a pioneer, giving birth to many activities and movements that have been condensed into a common movement of the youth of the whole country.
Actually, we do not wait or need a reminder from the head of the Youth Union. Every Youth Union cadre and every member of the Youth Union, the youth of the city named after Uncle Ho, always have high demands through every activity.
Being satisfied but not complacent has almost become a self-criticism that each cadre and Youth Union unit reminds each other after each program and activity in this city.
That becomes a clearer reminder when the common activities of the youth nationwide in 2024 have the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers".
Because it was the activities in Ho Chi Minh City, not anywhere else, that gave birth to a new youth activity method - the volunteer movement. Then through practice, it was summarized, expanded and it can be said that volunteer activities have now become the movement with the strongest appeal, mobilizing the largest number of young people and leaving the most social imprints up to this point.
The high demands on volunteer activities in the current social trends and needs associated with the theme of the year pose no small challenge to the place where it was born. Renewing oneself and keeping up with the pace of life of young people is certainly a legitimate demand, but it is not an easy problem to solve!
So, it is certain that each program and activity of the Youth Union or youth movement in Ho Chi Minh City is not initiated or implemented to gain the admiration of any unit or province. That is the self-requirement and also the responsibility of the unit to lead the activities to be able to better support the difficult places.
This request has caught up with the days of preparation for the new year 2024, not waiting for the day to return to work after this Lunar New Year holiday. And the immediate future will be preparing to launch Youth Month, which is only a few days away in the spirit of "Year of Youth Volunteers".
