Tonight, February 11 (the 2nd day of Tet), Bich La Dong village, Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district solemnly organized the Bich La communal house market festival of the year of Giap Thin - 2024.

Bich La Communal House Market Festival is a unique traditional festival held annually on the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year of the Bich La Five-Year-Old Family. The festival was born and maintained for hundreds of years, has been recognized as a provincial cultural relic and is being proposed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the competent authority to recognize it as a national cultural relic.

This year, the festival was held in a lively and joyful atmosphere, attracting a large number of visitors from all over the country right from the second night of Tet. Coming to the festival, visitors lit incense sticks in the communal house area to pray for a peaceful new year and all the best.
At this festival, according to long-standing tradition, local people bring their hometown products to sell to tourists.

Along with buying lucky branches to wish for good things, many people also buy salt with the meaning of "buying salt at the beginning of the year, buying lime at the end of the year" to wish for a lucky new year and to ward off bad luck.
Coming to this year's festival, visitors from all over the world can also enjoy the traditional art of Bài Chòi; participate in folk games, calligraphy competitions, chess competitions, catfish catching competitions, bánh chưng wrapping competitions, and pounding and om competitions.

Besides, tourists also visit and buy calligraphy, clay figurines and other souvenirs. Early the next morning, tourists can listen to the history of the village of Bich La and the legend of the golden turtle; watch the lantern dance ritual to pray for the Kim Quy god to appear at the lake in the communal house grounds to pray for a new year of favorable weather, bountiful crops, and happiness and prosperity for the villagers.
