Speaking at the launching ceremony of the "Fund for the Poor" to support the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province by 2025, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoi said that in recent times, Soc Trang province has always received the attention and direction of the Government, the support of central ministries and branches and the valuable contributions of benefactors in social security work, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of people in the province. Soc Trang province would like to acknowledge and express its deep gratitude to the leaders, companies, enterprises, economic groups, and benefactors inside and outside the province who have always accompanied and supported the locality.

In particular, the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a major policy of the Party and the State. This is both an important political task and has profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the practical concern and care of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and the whole society for families with housing difficulties. Thereby, encouraging all classes of people, especially those with meritorious services, poor households, and near-poor households with difficult circumstances to rise up in life.

To achieve the goal of eliminating 8,673 temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, in addition to support from the central and local budgets, the province needs to mobilize nearly 88 billion VND. However, due to the difficult socio-economic conditions of the province, the community's support is needed.

At the launching ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Khoi called on benefactors, companies, enterprises, corporations, organizations, individuals inside and outside the province, all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces and people of all walks of life in the province to continue to accompany and support resources through the provincial "Fund for the Poor" to continue to complete housing support for meritorious families, poor households and near-poor households according to the set targets.

At the ceremony, households receiving housing support from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses expressed their excitement and thanked the Party committees and authorities at all levels for their attention to housing support, creating conditions for families to have a solid home and rise up in life.

Leaders of Ke Sach district spoke with determination and strengthened direction to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district to be completed before June 30, 2025.

At the launching ceremony, generous donors, companies, enterprises, corporations, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province registered to contribute a total of more than 8 billion VND. Provincial leaders and delegates participated in the direct contribution at the launching ceremony with a total of nearly 98 million VND.

In her directive speech, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao emphasized that in order to continue implementing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province to ensure the roadmap in the coming time, the Provincial Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses requested Party committees, authorities, functional branches, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels to continue to effectively implement the proposed plan with a spirit of urgency, strengthen leadership and close direction; continue to mobilize the participation of the entire political system in the province with a spirit of determination, urgency and method.

Diversify resources to implement the program in a comprehensive, widespread, and inclusive manner (from the central budget, local budget, enterprises, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province) . Promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, and self-reliance, without waiting or relying on support from the central government. Steering Committees at all levels regularly inspect and supervise the implementation, ensure compliance with regulations, meet donor requirements, and maintain publicity and transparency, avoiding negative developments. Strengthen supervision and management of the area, proactively and closely coordinate with relevant agencies to create maximum conditions to accelerate the progress of completing the construction and repair of houses for subjects under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. The resources to be mobilized in the coming time are relatively large, it is necessary to continue to promote propaganda, emphasize the humanistic significance of the program, and call for contributions from organizations and individuals inside and outside the province. Especially creating social consensus so that everyone can share and join hands to support "no one is left behind" .

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thi Cam Dao said that today's ceremony is an opportunity for us to spread the spirit of responsibility, mobilize resources to help poor households to stabilize their lives. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also called on all levels, sectors, union members, members, armed forces, business community and all people to promote the tradition of solidarity, actively participate in contributing with the spirit of "whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes merit, whoever has property contributes property, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has little contributes little" to successfully implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before June 30, 2025.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to benefactors , companies, enterprises, corporations, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province who actively participated in contributing to the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Soc Trang province.
