Thanh Thoi An commune meets new rural commune standards

Thanh Thoi An Commune, Tran De District is a commune in Area I of ethnic minorities, with over 37% of the population being Khmer. In the early days of implementing the new rural construction, the commune's economy - culture - society were still slow to develop, people's lives faced many difficulties, and the infrastructure system of transportation, health care, and schools did not meet standards.

After 14 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the commune has focused on investing in developing transport infrastructure, irrigation, schools and other important works. Thanks to that, the exchange of goods and travel of people has become more convenient, the appearance of the countryside is increasingly spacious and clean. The New Rural Construction Program has contributed to improving people's lives, with 99% of households using safe electricity, over 94% of households having clean water meeting national standards. In 2024, the average income per capita will reach nearly 61 million VND/person/year; the number of poor households in the commune accounts for 1.36%, the commune no longer has temporary or dilapidated houses.

Comrade Vuong Quoc Nam highly appreciated the results that the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Thoi An commune have achieved in building a commune that meets new rural standards. He suggested that in the coming time, the commune should continuously enhance the role and responsibility of the Party Committee, government and the entire political system of the district and commune, especially the role of the leader in propaganda and mobilization work to help each household and people have a deeper understanding of the important strategic importance in building new rural areas. Continue to effectively restructure the agricultural sector, encourage the development of cooperative economic models, link production according to value chains, apply science and technology to agricultural production, and transform the structure of crops and livestock in accordance with local conditions. Mobilize diversely and effectively integrate resources to synchronously and comprehensively implement new rural construction tasks...

On this occasion, 2 collectives and 3 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their excellent performance in building Thanh Thoi An commune to meet the standards of a new rural commune; 5 collectives and 10 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee for their contributions to building Thanh Thoi An commune to meet the standards of a new rural commune... The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province presented the People's Committee of Tai Van commune with 100 million VND; Agribank Tran De presented 3 solidarity houses to the people of Thanh Thoi An commune; organizations and benefactors presented scholarships and bicycles to students in Thanh Thoi An commune.
