Thousands of migrants from Africa and the Middle East are stopping in Libya before making the dangerous Mediterranean crossing to escape poverty and conflict.
The International Organization for Migration previously said more than 100,000 migrants were living in flood-hit areas, including more than 8,000 in the Libyan city of Derna. The organization said they were mainly from Chad, Egypt and Sudan.
