At the ceremony, Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, reviewed the 70-year process of establishment and development. Hanoi education has developed strongly since its inception with a scale of nearly 3,000 schools at all levels, nearly 2.3 million students, and 130,000 teachers.
Among that strong teaching force, up to now, 342 teachers have been awarded the title "People's Teacher" and "Excellent Teacher" by the President.
"This is an important resource for the City to innovate and improve the quality of education and training in a practical, effective and progressive manner," Mr. Cuong emphasized.

According to the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Hanoi has now become the leading educational center of the country, with a strongly developed system of schools, universities and scientific research centers.
This is the first unit in the country to complete universal primary education in 1990, secondary education in 1999 and is one of the first four localities in the country to be recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as having achieved universal secondary education level 3.
The representative of the Department of Education and Training affirmed that Hanoi is the locality with the largest educational scale in the country in terms of the number of students, teachers, schools as well as investment in facilities and educational quality. With continuous development, Hanoi education has made an important contribution to the country's development, becoming a bright spot in the Vietnamese education sector.
Entering the era of industry 4.0 with innovation and creativity, the Capital's Education sector has had a development orientation for the new era, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources of the fourth industrial revolution.
Hanoi's education and training sector is increasingly affirming its leading position in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son stated that the achievements of the capital's education over the past 70 years are an important premise, creating momentum for the capital's education sector to continue to develop, overcome new challenges, and have a new mission to meet the development needs of the capital in the new period.
The Minister directed that Hanoi should develop an elegant education system, in which the dignity of teachers is respected, there is no school violence, no forced extra classes, and the gap between key education and mass education is reduced so that students in any area, school, or class can enjoy the best quality of education.
"An elegant education system, aiming at international standards, can create civilized, elegant and integrated people in the capital," the Minister emphasized and believed that Hanoi can completely successfully build an elegant education system on the existing foundation.
