SIU Piano Competition 2022 was a success, attracting a large number of contestants from provinces and cities across the country and from many prestigious international art training units such as Russia, Poland, Korea, Japan, France, etc. From the competition, many contestants have made strong progress in their music careers.

In the first season, the competition was divided into 3 groups: Group A (9 - 13 years old), Group B (14 - 17 years old) and Group C (18 years old and up). Each contestant had their own color and style, but all shared the same goal of expressing themselves with music and conquering the hearts of the audience.

Participating in the competition while majoring in Piano at the Moscow State Conservatory (Russian Federation), Tran Yen Nhi excellently won the Saigon International University Gold Prize (Group C). Yen Nhi shared that because 2022 is the first international piano competition in Vietnam, this award is of great significance, a source of motivation for Yen Nhi to overcome difficulties on the path of education.

This is the first professional competition that Le Quang Sinh - a contestant from the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, Poland - participated in. He expressed: "Every performance helps me learn and grow more in my musical career. I feel happy with the result I received - the Bronze Prize of Saigon International University (Group C) and most of all, I have had very valuable stage experiences when performing with the Symphony Orchestra".

Studying Piano Performance at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music, SIU Piano Competition has brought contestant Le Quang Sinh a memorable opportunity to gain experience in his career.

"When participating in the competition, I hope that my music will bring the author's message closer to the listeners. Although I know that the competition will have a lot of pressure, it will help me to be more sublime in my performance. The Asian International Gold Prize (Group B) has given me more confidence to go further on the artistic path." Nguyen Lan Anh expressed.

The competition was also an opportunity for the contestants to create memorable memories. Each note touched the hearts of the audience and ignited the passion for music in each contestant.

Although he had prepared since the first days of the competition announcement, contestant Vu Hoang Gia Bao said that participating in a major international competition for the first time was also a challenge for him. However, Gia Bao turned the challenge into an opportunity when he conquered the judges and won the Asian International Prospect Award (Group B).

Joining the competition with the goal of learning about performance style and being more confident when performing on a big stage, Nguyen Tran Quoc Thang became the owner of the Asian International Gold Award (Group A) at the age of 10. Quoc Thang's wish is to return to the competition as a contestant in Group B to perform a Concerto with the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra.

Studying piano since the age of 5, the Asian International Gold Prize (Group A) has helped Quoc Thang become more confident in his professional learning journey.

Ho Le Dang Khoi, the contestant who won the Asian International Silver Prize (Group B) was excited when talking about his experience: "The performance at the Gala night was really special, I was very comfortable immersing myself in the classical music space that I have been passionate about since I was a child."

Season 1 of the competition ended with deep impressions, SIU Piano Competition season 2 is opening the registration portal and accepting entries for the Preliminary round until June 19, 2024 with the hope of continuing to be a meeting place for talent and passion.

With this event, Saigon International University (SIU) continues to affirm its unwavering commitment to discovering and supporting young musical talents, while contributing to the development of musical arts in Vietnam and around the world.

Held every two years, SIU Piano Competition is jointly organized by Saigon International University (SIU) and Asian School under the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE).

More extensive than season 1, the participants of season 2 are divided into two groups: Professional Group for all contestants of all nationalities, including 3 groups: Group A (9 - 13 years old), Group B (14 - 17 years old), Group C (18 years old and up).

Non-Professional Group is for candidates of all nationalities who do not study Piano at a conservatory, music academy, university, college or intermediate school with Piano training, including 3 groups: Group A (8 years old and under), Group B (9 - 14 years old), Group C (15 years old and over).

20 prizes with total value up to 1,170,000,000 VND.
