Ninh Thuan extends contest to choose Cham ceramic products as gifts

(Fatherland) - Ninh Thuan extends the time to receive entries for the contest "Designing Cham ceramic products as gifts of Ninh Thuan province" until the end of January 2025.

The People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province has just announced an extension of the deadline for receiving entries for the contest "Designing Cham ceramic products as gifts of Ninh Thuan province".

Previously, Ninh Thuan organized the first contest with the deadline for receiving entries until November 30, 2024. However, up to now, the entries sent by organizations and individuals have not met the quantity required by the Organizing Committee.

Therefore, the province extended the deadline for receiving entries until January 31, 2025. At the same time, the authors are allowed to edit, supplement and re-submit the submitted products to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Cham ceramic products are displayed at Bau Truc Pottery Village, Ninh Phuoc District.

According to the Organizing Committee, the competition aims to preserve and promote the value of Cham pottery art, which has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.

At the same time, attract and promote the creativity of artists, artisans, individuals and groups inside and outside the province to participate in creating Cham ceramic product models to use as gifts of Ninh Thuan province, contributing to enriching the image and brand identity of Cham ceramics in particular and Ninh Thuan province in general.

According to the contest rules, the entries must be created using realistic methods from traditional Cham materials, and must be fully crafted or simulated in a 1:1 scale.

The Organizing Committee will evaluate and score based on criteria such as creativity; applicability and symbolism. Priority will be given to products participating in the contest that meet the requirements of aesthetics, luxury, applicability, high durability, suitable size; artisans of Bau Truc Cham pottery village can mass produce many products./.
