SIU Piano Competition 2024 opens registration portal

SIU Piano Competition is jointly organized by Saigon International University (SIU) and Asian School under the Group of Asian International Education (GAIE) every two years.

More extensive than season 1

Participants of SIU Piano Competition season 2 are divided into two groups: Professional Group for all contestants of all nationalities, including 3 groups: Group A (9 - 13 years old), Group B (14 - 17 years old), Group C (18 years old and above).

The Non-Professional Group is for candidates of all nationalities who do not study piano at conservatories, music academies, universities, colleges or intermediate schools that offer piano training. It includes 3 groups: Group A (8 years old and under), Group B (9 - 14 years old), Group C (15 years old and over).

Candidates can register for SIU Piano Competition 2024 from May 27, 2024 to June 9, 2024 in one of the following two ways:

● Register online at: https://siupianocompetition.siu.edu.vn/

● Register directly at the Organizing Committee Office: 8C Tong Huu Dinh, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, young piano talents will go through 3 rounds of competition. The preliminary round takes place from June 10 to June 19, 2024. Contestants will record their own piano solo videos and upload them to accounts provided by the organizers. The deadline for uploading videos to participate in the preliminary round is June 19, 2024.

The Semi-finals and Finals will take place from July 22 to July 27, 2024, competing live at Dien Hong Theater, Dong A Hall, Thao Dien Campus, Saigon International University.

Notably, in the Semi-finals and Finals, the contestants will demonstrate their talents and musical styles on the stage of the luxurious Opera House - Dien Hong Theater SIU with the Fazioli F278 piano - one of the world's leading famous piano brands.

The Fazioli F278 has been used at many famous piano competitions around the world.

At the same time, young talents in Group B & C of the Professional group will have the opportunity to perform with the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra in the Final round.

Before that, the contestants will have time to practice with the orchestra under the guidance of artistic advisor and conductor - Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach, to create conditions for the contestants to complete their performance well.

Prizes up to 1,170,000,000 VND

Participating in SIU Piano Competition season 1 with the goal of learning about performance style and being more confident when performing on a big stage, Nguyen Tran Quoc Thang became the owner of the Asian International Gold Prize (Group A) at the age of 10.

Quoc Thang's wish is to return to the competition as a contestant in group B to perform a Concerto with the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra.

The best candidates will receive prizes with a total value of up to 1,170,000,000 VND and have the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, in front of talent scouts and the media, the professional and non-professional piano-loving community, opening up career doors.

It is known that the jury of the competition consists of Vietnamese and international pianists and lecturers with high qualifications, rich teaching experience, and who have participated in many domestic and international competitions. At the same time, the advisory board of the competition consists of managers and artists who have made many contributions to the development of music in general and piano in particular.
