From tomorrow (December 12), Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) will temporarily stop providing money transfer services via the Internet (Internet Banking) for individual customers.
This announcement was recently posted by SCB on the bank's website. Accordingly, from 0:00 on December 12, 2024, individual customers will not be able to conduct electronic banking transactions via Internet Banking on computers.
Electronic banking transactions via Internet Banking include: Internal and interbank transfers; querying and updating account information and current balance; paying bills for purchases and services such as buying airline tickets, buying train tickets, paying electricity and water bills, recharging prepaid phone accounts;... paying taxes; opening online savings accounts, closing savings accounts.
SCB did not provide specific information about the suspension of Internet Banking services. However, individual customers can still make transactions on SCB's mobile application (SCB Mobile Banking).
This bank has also just updated the transaction limit for personal payment cards (including domestic and international cards). Accordingly, from December 6, the maximum transaction limit is 50 million VND/card/day.
Recently, SCB has continuously adjusted the transaction limit, from the maximum limit of 200 million VND/card/day to 100 million VND, 50 million VND, 10 million VND and now 50 million VND.
Since the beginning of December 2024, SCB has continued to terminate the operation of another transaction office (Le Duc Tho Transaction Office, Hoc Mon Branch, Ho Chi Minh City), bringing the total number of transaction offices terminated since the Truong My Lan case to 139.
