Accordingly, in the whole province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, there are 231 projects being implemented with nearly 7,569 hectares. Of which, there are 572 projects that have not been implemented with an area of over 15,000 hectares, accounting for 57% of the number of projects and nearly 65% of the area.
In particular, Phu My Town is the locality with many unfinished projects with 30 projects not yet implemented, 151 projects in progress, only 20/201 projects have been completed.
According to the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, through monitoring, it is found that there are still many shortcomings and limitations in land recovery and land use conversion for approved projects. The district level has not assigned leaders to be the focal point to handle and resolve the project list and evaluate the implementation results.
Slow-moving projects may be revoked.
Faced with the above situation, representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province are taking measures to improve the efficiency of land use, avoid waste and waste of resources, and at the same time create conditions for new investors with the capacity to access land resources. The unit is also coordinating with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to monitor projects that have been extended in terms of investment progress, projects that have not completed the procedures for handing over land on site, urging the implementation progress and handling slow-moving projects according to regulations.
For projects that have not been put into use or have been behind schedule in land use, the Department will report to the Provincial People's Committee to consider extending the land use period accordingly. At the same time, it is recommended that the province assign the Department of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and review the investment progress of approved projects.
