Following the government's approval for the construction of a road connecting Ho Tram to Long Thanh Airport, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has focused on completing the necessary procedures to launch the project.


On March 28th, according to information from the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, local leaders are urging relevant units to promptly complete the procedures for adjusting the provincial planning to add an urban expressway connecting the Ho Tram area in Xuyen Moc district to Long Thanh airport.

Currently, many roads connecting to Ho Tram are being invested in.

Investing in the construction of a new expressway will open up space for urban development, services, and industry, maximizing the advantages of the economic and tourism potential of the eastern coastal region.

The leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province also stated that they will strive to complete the procedures to start the project in January 2026 and put it into operation in the early third quarter of 2027.

It is known that, in relation to this issue, the Government Office recently issued a conclusion by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at a meeting on the transportation plan connecting Long Thanh Airport and Ho Tram.

Accordingly, the Government leaders have approved the proposal of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to invest in the construction of an urban expressway connecting directly from Ho Tram to Long Thanh airport. The adjustment of the provincial planning will be carried out within the scope of authority, following a streamlined procedure and ensuring compliance with current laws.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also instructed the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction to guide the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the investor, and relevant units in implementing the project with the most streamlined and fastest procedures, ensuring environmental friendliness, proper authority, and compliance with legal regulations, preventing corruption and waste that could lead to the loss of state assets and capital.

Previously, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province sent a document to the Prime Minister proposing a transportation plan connecting Long Thanh airport to Ho Tram. According to the province, investing in this road is essential, contributing to the completion of the external transportation network and helping to strongly develop the tourism and service industry towards international standards.

This 41km-long expressway connects to Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 in Chau Duc District and ends with the Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal road in Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. It is a fully-fledged 4-lane urban expressway (with future plans for 6 lanes), designed for a speed of 100km/h.

The total investment for the expressway is estimated at approximately 17,000 billion VND, of which land acquisition costs account for 4,500 billion VND.
