22 socio-economic targets of Dakrong achieved and exceeded the plan
Dakrong District Party Secretary Nguyen Tri Tuan said that Dakrong is a border and mountainous district in the west of Quang Tri province. In recent years, the local socio-economic situation has developed, people's lives have gradually improved, the poverty rate has decreased by an average of 5% per year; political security, social order and safety have been ensured, border security has been maintained; the work of building the Party and the political system has achieved many important results.
In 2024, the district will achieve and exceed 22/22 main socio-economic targets with a total estimated production value of over VND 1,707.5 billion, an increase of 16.14% compared to 2023; total state budget revenue is estimated at VND 914.167 billion; average income per capita is estimated at VND 36.2 million/person/year; projects, planning schemes, key and focal works are directed resolutely and achieve positive results with a total disbursed public investment capital of VND 125,755 million, reaching a rate of 57.8%. The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and achieve clear results; the quality of education and training continues to be improved; the situation of people's health care, disease prevention, and food hygiene and safety is strengthened.
Regarding the work of building party organizations and developing party members, the leadership focused on implementation. During the year, 189 party members were admitted, reaching 210% of the plan; internal political protection work was carried out strictly, cautiously and in accordance with regulations. Regarding the implementation of the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, the Standing Committee of the Dakrong District Party Committee focused on directing the implementation of 18 groups of socio-economic targets, 5 groups of party building targets, 6 key programs and projects, and 4 breakthrough areas. It is forecasted that 21/23 targets will be achieved and exceeded the set plan. Regarding the implementation of Project 197 and the policy of eliminating temporary and leaky houses in the district, up to now, Dakrong district has integrated the construction of more than 1,200 new houses and renovated over 300 houses.
At the meeting, the leaders of Dakrong district raised difficulties, obstacles and made recommendations to successfully implement the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, Party building and the political system in the area. In particular, it is proposed that the Provincial Party Committee direct provincial departments and branches to pay attention to supporting the Dakrong District People's Committee to call for and connect investors to exploit the strengths of the locality, especially developing large-scale livestock farming, factories producing and processing agricultural and forestry products; pay attention to supporting the district to invest in and expand the Krong Klang Town Industrial Cluster Phase 2 with a total estimated investment of about 30 billion VND and invest in an industrial cluster in the southern area of the district with a total investment of about 20 billion VND...
Review difficult-to-achieve congress resolution targets to focus on leadership
Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai highly appreciated and commended the efforts of the entire political system of Dakrong district in leading and directing the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security, and implementing Party and political system building work in the past time. 2025 is the last year of the term, therefore, he suggested that the locality review the main goals, targets, and tasks set out in the Resolution of the District Party Congress, especially the targets that are forecast to be difficult to achieve, in order to focus on leadership and direction for their completion.
Continue to do well in social security work, care for and improve the lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities, remote areas, and border areas, along with directing and implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and Project 197 on housing support for poor households. Determined to soon remove Dakrong district from the list of poor districts nationwide.
At the same time, it is necessary to focus on directing the Party Congresses at the grassroots and district levels in accordance with the spirit of Directive 35-CT/TW of the Politburo and Plan 157-KH/TU of the Provincial Party Committee, in conjunction with summarizing Resolution 18 and arranging the political system in the district to be streamlined, effective and efficient.
Regarding the recommendations, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee shall direct the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches to study and solve issues related to agricultural production, new rural construction, industry - construction, trade - services, etc.; study and advise the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to consider issuing a specialized resolution on a number of specific mechanisms and policies for Dakrong. Regarding the consideration of allowing border communes to continue using the staff at the position of deputy party secretary reinforced by border guards, allocating staff to the Dakrong District Party Committee Office, civil servants of the Party Committee Office of communes and towns, and recruiting civil servants at the commune level, the Provincial Party Committee Organization Committee shall study and advise on the plan.
| Dakrong has 13 administrative units with 78 villages and hamlets; population of 49,919 people, of which Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups account for nearly 80% of the total population of the district. Dakrong district Party Committee currently has 45 grassroots party organizations, including 17 party committees, 28 grassroots party cells and 157 party cells directly under the Party Committee with 3,060 party members. The district has 5 communes (A Bung, A Ngo, A Vao, Ba Nang, Ta Long) sharing a border with Samuoi district, Salavan province (Laos) with 61.226 km of border, 1 La Lay International Border Gate and 1 Coc Secondary Border Gate (Ba Nang commune). |
