On the afternoon of August 5, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam Choi Young Sam who came to greet him on the occasion of his new assignment in Vietnam.

The Korean Ambassador to Vietnam sincerely thanked the National Assembly Chairman for taking the time to meet him; once again respectfully conveyed the congratulations of the Korean National Assembly Chairman to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man upon being elected by the Vietnamese National Assembly as Chairman of the 15th National Assembly; and at the same time, sent his deep condolences to the Party, State and people of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Ambassador agreed with the assessment of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the good cooperative relationship between the two countries over the past 30 years and sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for inviting the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to visit Vietnam. At the same time, the Ambassador also conveyed the respectful invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to visit Korea soon.
The Ambassador affirmed that in his new position, he will do his utmost to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two countries, contributing to the effective implementation of the Korea-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to pay attention, issue mechanisms and policies, create favorable conditions, and improve the investment environment for Korean enterprises to promote and expand investment and business activities in Vietnam; create favorable conditions for the Korean community living, studying and working in Vietnam. The Ambassador also hopes to promote the implementation of cooperation projects in which Korea has strengths and Vietnam has needs, such as clean energy, renewable energy, semiconductors, high-tech electronics, artificial intelligence, etc.
South Korea is one of Vietnam’s major investors, especially in foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. The two sides have set a target of raising two-way trade turnover to about 100 billion USD by 2025 and 150 billion USD by 2030.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to issue mechanisms and policies to attract investment not only for Korean enterprises but also for enterprises around the world to invest and do business in Vietnam; he suggested that the National Assemblies of the two countries strengthen supervision of the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the National Assemblies and the Governments of the two countries in the coming time, especially the cooperation agreements signed between the two countries within the framework of the recent visit to Korea by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
