
The contest aims to propagate and affirm the correct policies and guidelines of the Party and State, the efforts of localities in implementing Resolution 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 on the Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; practically towards the celebration of major events and holidays in 2025. At the same time, raise awareness of the masses about the position and role of the sea and islands in the cause of national construction and defense; affirm the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland through the art of photography, conveying the message about the sea and islands of the Vietnamese people.

The contest aims to promote the movement of artistic creation about the sea and islands, vividly reflecting the life and work of fishermen, the activities of forces protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, creating a strong spread in the community.
The participating works must demonstrate one of the following main contents: The beauty of Vietnam's natural seas and islands; The daily life, work and production of fishermen at sea; Activities to protect sovereignty over seas and islands; Economic, social and cultural works on seas and islands; Sea tourism and sustainable development; Outstanding examples, typical examples in socio-economic development and protection of the country's sovereignty over seas and islands; Application of science and technology in developing the marine economy and protecting the ocean ecosystem; International cooperation activities on sea and island development; Reflecting important steps in the strategy of developing the marine economy associated with international integration, exploiting sustainable marine resources and affirming the position of a strong marine nation;...

The creative space includes 28 coastal provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Kien Giang.
