Guangxi organizes training course on artificial intelligence (AI) for localities bordering Vietnam

On March 26, a training course on artificial intelligence organized by Guangxi for leaders and officials of departments and agencies of five provinces/cities of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Hai Phong of Vietnam officially opened in Nanning city, Guangxi, China.

The class was attended by 50 students who are leaders and experts from departments and agencies of Vietnamese localities.

This is the first artificial intelligence training course organized by Guangxi for Vietnamese localities within the framework of the "Spring Meeting" mechanism between Secretaries of provinces/regions.

The course is taught directly by leading Chinese experts and professors on artificial intelligence from ministries, sectors, universities and research institutes with rich content combining classroom learning with practical survey activities in the two cities of Nanning and Guilin, Guangxi, China.

The class was attended by 50 students who are leaders and experts from departments and agencies of Vietnamese localities.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 25, Member of the Standing Committee of the Regional Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Tran Cuong had a meeting with Comrade Nguyen Thi Huong, Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning and representatives of local students attending the training course.

Representatives of the Organizing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Regional Party Committee and representatives of the Departments, branches and the Regional Party Committee's Party School also attended the meeting.

At the reception, Secretary of the Regional Party Committee Tran Cuong warmly welcomed the Vietnamese students. He emphasized that China is currently developing rapidly in the field of science and technology, especially artificial intelligence. Guangxi is actively implementing the "Initiative on Global Artificial Intelligence Governance" proposed by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the "Action Plan for Enhancing Capacity Building for Artificial Intelligence" of the Chinese government.

Under the guidance of central authorities, Guangxi is accelerating integration into the era of artificial intelligence, building a China-ASEAN AI innovation cooperation center, and strengthening coordination with ASEAN countries, including Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations, Guangxi wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the field of artificial intelligence through personnel training programs.

Secretary of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Party Committee Tran Cuong received Consul General Nguyen Thi Huong and representatives of local students attending the training course.

On behalf of the officials of the departments, agencies and localities of Vietnam attending the class, Consul General Nguyen Thi Huong highly appreciated the implementation of important common perceptions and the results of the "Early Spring Meeting" Conference held in February 2025 in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Vietnam; expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Guangxi government and the functional agencies of Guangxi for their efforts in organizing a specialized training course on artificial intelligence for localities of Vietnam.

Consul General Nguyen Thi Huong emphasized that this class has a very special meaning, not only demonstrating the determination of Guangxi and Vietnamese localities in effectively implementing the results achieved at the Spring Meeting between the Secretary of the Guangxi Regional Party Committee and the Secretaries of the provinces/cities of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Hai Phong in February 2025 in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, but also a vivid demonstration of friendly cooperation at the local level between the two countries, especially in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the year of Vietnam-China humanities exchange.

Expressing his appreciation for the contribution of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning in promoting the organization of training courses on artificial intelligence in particular as well as cooperation between Guangxi and ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam in general, Secretary of the Guangxi Party Committee Tran Cuong emphasized that the goal of this course is to equip Vietnamese officials with the most basic knowledge of artificial intelligence, especially on the application of advances in artificial intelligence in practical work, thereby further promoting cooperation on artificial intelligence between Guangxi and Vietnam, serving well the construction of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

This artificial intelligence training course takes place over 9 days, ending on April 2.
