
The training course took place over 3 days (June 17-20), with 50 local trainees. At the training course, the trainees were introduced by artisans to basic knowledge about the cultural space of drums and gongs of Quang Nam ethnic minorities; characteristics, functions, and symbols of the drum and gong culture of the Co Tu people in Dong Giang; technical processes, art of making, scales of drums and gongs; especially performance skills, dances and ways to use drums and gongs combined with the traditional tung tung ya yá dance of the Co Tu people.
At the end of the training course, all students can skillfully use drums and gongs combined with the traditional tung tung ya ya dance in Co Tu festivals.

The training course aims to contribute to the restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible cultural forms (the art of using drums and gongs of the Co Tu people) in the life of the Co Tu ethnic community in Dong Giang district. Thereby promoting cultural and artistic activities in the locality while raising awareness and pride in the fine traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people as well as the ethnic minority communities in the mountainous areas of Quang Nam...
