Quang Nam strengthens the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity

On the morning of March 27, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices of Quang Nam Province Luong Nguyen Minh Triet chaired a meeting to evaluate the results of activities in the first quarter and approve key tasks for the second quarter of this year.

According to the report at the meeting, from the beginning of the year, based on the 2025 Work Program of the Central Steering Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity has advised the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to decide to complete the membership of the Steering Committee to include 15 members, ensuring the correct composition and structure as prescribed. Party committees, party organizations, agencies, units, and members of the Steering Committee develop plans to implement assigned related tasks. Advise, direct the concretization and strict implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on anti-corruption, waste, and negativity.

Regarding the investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases, the Steering Committee has focused on directing the prosecution agencies to improve the effectiveness in coordinating the detection, investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases, including those in the non-state sector, ensuring compliance with regulations.

In the first quarter, the Quang Nam Police Investigation Agency prosecuted and investigated 29 cases, with 48 defendants for corruption and position-related crimes. The Steering Committee also strengthened the direction of recovering lost and misappropriated assets in corruption, economic and negative cases.
