Previously, from May 19 to June 8, more than 1,000 athletes from 27 agencies and units of Military Region 5 participated in the qualifying round at 7 competition clusters. As a result, 8 football teams and 8 volleyball teams with more than 300 officers, coaches and athletes continued to compete in the Final Round. Here, the teams will compete for the first, second and third prizes of the entire Military Region and the prizes for the Player with the most goals and the Best Attacker.

The final round of the Military Region 5 football and volleyball tournament will take place from June 25 to July 2. This football and volleyball tournament is the basis for Military Region 5 to assess the physical training movement and sports activities of officers and soldiers of agencies and units, and at the same time select outstanding athletes to form the Military Region team to participate in the 2023 Military-wide Football and Volleyball Tournament.

In his opening speech, Major General Le Ngoc Hai requested the Organizing Committee, the Professional Subcommittees, and the referees to organize and operate the tournament in accordance with the competition schedule, regulations, plans, and rules, ensuring strictness, objectivity, honesty, accuracy, and absolute safety; the athletes need to strictly comply with military discipline, state laws, regulations, and competition rules, uphold the spirit of solidarity, nobility, and determination to compete for the highest results.
