These are the contents emphasized at the conference to review 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01 of the 13th Politburo on promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", resolutely fight against individualism in the new situation, organized by the Party Committee of Military Region 5 in Da Nang city this morning (April 19).

After 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01 of the 13th Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and 2 years of implementing the Resolution of the Central Military Commission on promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", resolutely fighting against individualism in the new situation, the Party Committee and Armed Forces of Military Region 5 have achieved many important results.

In studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, implementing the Resolution of the Central Military Commission, agencies and units have stepped up the implementation of the Campaign to promote tradition, contribute talents, worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new period; actively participated in the emulation movements "Officers and soldiers of the Military Region 5 Armed Forces compete to practice office culture, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers", "Armed Forces of Military Region 5 join hands to build new countryside", "Army joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind" and many other movements such as "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember the source". Units of Military Region 5 visited and presented more than 3,500 gifts, organized spring festival spots with ethnic minorities in the area with a total cost of 9 billion VND. Under the “Godmother” program, the Women’s Union at all levels in Military Region 5 adopted 38 orphans in the stationed area; the “Lifting Dreams” program awarded 167 gifts to outstanding students with a total value of nearly 250 million VND…

Speaking at the Conference, Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 5, affirmed that, in addition to many remarkable results in promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and resolutely fighting against individualism in the new situation, there are still some limitations that need to be overcome. That is, the registration of commitments to follow the content has not been linked to the core tasks and is not close to reality. The work of propagating, discovering, praising and replicating good models and practices in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style has not been timely; the responsibility to set an example, the pioneering and exemplary nature of some cadres and party members is still limited. Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach suggested: "At this Conference, we will evaluate the results of leadership, direction, organization and implementation of Conclusion No. 01 and Resolution No. 847 of the Central Military Commission, focusing on clarifying the results achieved, limitations, difficulties and causes; determining directions, tasks and solutions to improve implementation efficiency in the coming time. Thereby, continuing to raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees and organizations, strengthening leadership and direction, promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", resolutely fighting individualism in the new situation".

At this Conference, Military Region 5 honored 24 groups and 32 individuals who are typical examples in training, combat readiness, production and work. These are groups and individuals with many outstanding achievements in dynamic and creative working spirit; many initiatives and technical improvements that have been effectively applied in practice... These groups and individuals have had many new ways of training, combat readiness, building regular forces, militia and self-defense forces, reserve mobilization, building strong and comprehensive agencies and units that are "exemplary and typical".
