Speaking at a meeting with South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor, Wang Yi affirmed that BRICS is the most important platform for representatives of emerging markets and major developing countries to enhance dialogue and cooperation, and is also a bridge for strategic information exchange in the Southern Hemisphere.

Beijing also actively called for continued strengthening of cooperation among BRICS members, promoting multilateralism and joining hands to ensure stability for a world that is constantly facing crises.

In addition, China is willing to work with South Africa to give full play to the Belt and Road Initiative and the South African Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan. At the same time, the two sides can expand cooperation in the fields of minerals, digital economy, clean energy, environmental protection industry, marine resources development and poverty alleviation,

Expressing his belief that South Africa-China relations will always maintain a level of trust and extensive cooperation, Minister Pandor highly appreciated Beijing's assistance, contributing to helping South Africa and other African countries overcome the Covid-19 pandemic and promote economic and social development.
