DNVN - On October 21, Qualcomm - a famous American chip manufacturer - introduced the first mobile Snapdragon platform, carrying the world's fastest central processing unit (CPU), called "Snapdragon 8 Elite".
The Snapdragon Summit, where Qualcomm announced the product, was held in Maui, Hawaii. The Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU is designed to develop multi-dimensional artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative AI directly on the device, helping complex processing run smoothly while protecting user privacy.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite uses Qualcomm's next-generation Oryon CPU, a system-on-a-chip (SoC) that is considered the most powerful mobile platform available today. The Snapdragon 8 Elite significantly improves performance and power efficiency, while delivering superior experiences in tasks such as photography, gaming, and studio-quality audio, all enhanced by AI integration.
Qualcomm introduced the Oryon CPU for PCs this year. “We are excited to bring the power of Oryon to a Snapdragon mobile platform for the first time,” said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile at Qualcomm Technologies. “This is a big step forward and we believe users will love the experience our new CPU brings.”
Qualcomm says the new Oryon CPU offers 45% performance gains, 44% energy efficiency gains, and the largest shared cache in the mobile industry.
The Snapdragon Summit takes place from October 21 to 23, where Qualcomm will showcase its latest platforms and technologies that will power future consumer and automotive devices.
