On April 6, Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that in the first 3 months of 2024, Kien Giang is estimated to welcome about 2.7 million visitors, of which 290,650 are international tourists (an increase of 49.5% over the same period in 2023).
Phu Quoc City alone is estimated to welcome more than 1.6 million visitors (international visitors are estimated at about 285,000), with revenue of about 6,095 billion VND.
In particular, tours to explore indigenous culture, experience the life of night squid fishermen and hunt sunsets at sea are attracting tourists to Phu Quoc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh - a tour guide in Phu Quoc - said that night squid fishing in Phu Quoc is being chosen by domestic and foreign tourists.
"With just a round coil of wire, a colorful fake shrimp with many sharp hooks, I can go fishing. I was very surprised and delighted when I caught fresh squid," said Vo Van Phuong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

Phu Quoc City People's Committee said that ferries and speedboats from the mainland to Phu Quoc run about 28 trips per day. During the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays, the locality will continue to strengthen price checks and sell at the listed prices so that visitors can enjoy their vacation comfortably and safely.
"Phu Quoc currently has many new products, improved service quality and many incentives and discounts on tours. The locality expects a large number of tourists to take high-speed trains to Phu Quoc during the April 30 holiday," said Mr. Huynh Quang Hung - Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee.
