Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Luang Prabang province.

Comrade Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, paid a courtesy visit to the leader of Luong Pha Bang Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Bun Luom Mani-vong, Deputy Governor.

Comrade Bun Luom Manivong warmly welcomed the delegation of the Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to visit and coordinate the organization of the Culture - Tourism Week in Luang Prabang. He affirmed that this is an important and meaningful event to promote exchanges and develop tourism between the Northwestern provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and Luang Prabang, contributing to strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the provinces in particular and Vietnam - Laos in general.

The Deputy Governor of Luang Prabang Province also briefed the delegation on the characteristics, situation, and socio-economic development orientation of the province. Accordingly, Luang Prabang borders 6 provinces of Northern Laos and shares a border with 2 provinces of Vietnam, Dien Bien and Son La. The province has an area of 16,800 ^km2 , 80% of which is mountainous with 11 districts, 1 city, 13 ethnic groups, and 490,000 people. In recent years, Luang Prabang's traffic has become increasingly convenient, with high-speed rail and international airports connecting domestic provinces and some neighboring countries. Luang Prabang has great strengths in developing tourism services with 228 tourist destinations, especially the ancient capital of Luang Prabang, which was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1995. The province is interested in developing tourism and attracting investment, especially in the tourism sector. Many foreign investors, including Vietnamese, have implemented projects, built restaurants and hotels to meet the needs of tourists. Therefore, he hopes that after the first successful Cultural - Tourism Week, the provinces will continue to maintain it in the following years, strengthening cooperation in tourism development.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang, on behalf of the working delegations of the provinces, thanked the sentiments and reception of the Party, government and people of Luong Pha Bang province. Through the exchange of the Deputy Governor, the delegations basically grasped the characteristics, situation and similarities in culture, economy, orientation of socio-economic development in general, tourism in particular between the two sides. The Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Luang Prabang all determined to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector with policies and practical activities to exploit potential and strengths. With the solidarity and unity between the two sides, it is believed that the Culture - Tourism Week of the Northwest region and Ho Chi Minh City in Luang Prabang will be a great success, serving as a basis for consultation and discussion; an important premise for building the contents of signing, cooperation, connection, and promoting the development of culture - tourism between the provinces in particular, and the socio-economic development of Vietnam - Laos in general. Through this activity, the provinces inherit and concretize the special friendship between the two Parties and two States that has been built over time, continuing to bond "forever green and everlastingly sustainable".

Also on the morning of October 25, the delegation of the Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang. Ms. Kieu Thi Hang Phuc, Consul General received and worked with the delegation. Comrade Vu A Bang reported and informed the Consul General about the preparation and organization of activities within the framework of the Culture - Tourism Week of the Northwest region and Ho Chi Minh City in Luang Prabang. At the same time, he proposed that the Consulate General increase propaganda to the Vietnamese community in Luang Prabang and neighboring provinces; participate and spread the image of the program, contributing to promoting the beauty and tourism potential of the provinces participating in the event in particular, and Vietnam in general. Consul General Kieu Thi Hang Phuc agreed with some of the contents and proposals of the delegation; highly appreciated the event of the Culture - Tourism Week of the Northwest region and Ho Chi Minh City in Luang Prabang.
