• EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT ALL LEVELS

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training will continue to effectively implement the plan to develop preschool, general education, continuing education, universal education and illiteracy eradication; and strictly implement regulations on safe, healthy, friendly schools and prevention of school violence.

The whole sector has 662 units and schools with 225 kindergartens, 211 primary schools, 156 secondary schools, 59 high schools, 1 provincial Continuing Education Center, and 9 Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers.

The total number of students at all levels is 349,401, with 21,282 administrators, teachers and staff.

The quality of child care and education is increasingly improved, 100% of schools have boarding schools, children study 2 sessions/day; 100% of children have health check-ups and health monitoring with growth charts; 100% of preschools develop educational programs suitable to the culture, local conditions, schools, abilities and needs of children.

For the primary education program, the Department of Education and Training has completed the compilation of Lam Dong province's local education materials for grade 5, deployed digital learning materials for local education materials from grades 1 to 4, and trained in the implementation of digital citizenship skills education at the primary level.

The management staff and teachers were trained and instructed in grade 5 textbooks of the 2018 General Education Program. Phase 2 of the Project to enhance Vietnamese for ethnic minority students was implemented to improve the quality of grade 1 students, and Vietnamese language teaching was implemented before entering grade 1 for 7,247/7,261 children with a total implementation cost of 3.3 billion VND.

The sector continues to direct the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program. The Department of Education and Training has issued documents guiding the teaching of local educational content for each grade and implementing teaching at educational institutions in the province. At the same time, it has given the initiative to educational institutions to implement educational plans in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities.

Currently, the province has 1 provincial continuing education center and 9 district-level vocational education - continuing education centers; 142 community learning centers, 9 Foreign Language - Information Technology centers; 106 Foreign Language centers; 43 life skills education centers.

The results of implementing illiteracy eradication work in the whole province in 2024 will reach 98.6%; maintaining universal preschool education for 5-year-old children; universal primary education level 3; secondary education level 2; eliminating illiteracy level 2.

Schools continue to pilot teaching English to preschool children at schools where parents have the need and ensure the conditions prescribed in Circular No. 50/2020/TT-BGDDT dated December 31, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training on promulgating the English familiarization program for preschool children; deploying for 55 English teachers to support online teaching for students in Meo Vac, Bac Me and Hoang Su Phi districts, Ha Giang province; teaching English and IT deployed at 211/211 schools (100%).

Informatics and English are taught to 100% of students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Implement English teaching according to the 2018 General Education Program for grades 9 and 12; coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to train teaching methods for 30 English teachers. Organize training on AI application in foreign language teaching for more than 120 teachers.

The work of inspection, examination, settlement of complaints and denunciations, citizen reception, and anti-corruption is focused on. The whole sector continues to promote the emulation movement "Innovation and creativity in management, teaching and learning" in conjunction with the emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Provincial People's Committee to ensure practicality, effectiveness, and successful completion of the school year's tasks.

• CAREFULLY PREPARE FOR THE 2025 HIGH SCHOOL EXAM AND ENROLLMENT FOR THE FIRST LEVEL

According to Mr. Pham Kim Quang - Director of the Department of Education and Training, in the coming time, the Department will continue to implement Decision No. 1287/QD-UBND dated August 8, 2024 of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee on promulgating the 2024-2025 school year schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education in the province and Decision No. 2033/QD-UBND dated December 17, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on assigning socio-economic development plan targets for 2025. Specifically, the rate of public schools meeting national standards is 83.5%; the rate of young people of school age completing high school and equivalent programs is 82.2%.

The unit continues to advise on organizing the 2025-2026 Specialized Grade 10 Entrance Exam and the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Deploying preschool and general education enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year in the province.

Promote administrative reform in educational institutions and at the Department of Education and Training; strongly implement digital transformation in educational institutions, apply information technology; deploy and innovate communication activities on education and training. Increase attraction of investment resources for education and training. Prioritize investment in facilities and minimum teaching equipment to ensure implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.

The leaders of the Department of Science and Technology requested the Department of Education and Training to pay attention to implementing competitions on informatics and developing science and technology in schools.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Education and Training and representatives of specialized departments also raised a number of recommendations on the difficulties the industry is facing in terms of human resources, financial mechanisms, enrollment, management of extra teaching and learning, etc.

This year's admissions and high school graduation exams have a larger number of candidates and many innovations. Department leaders also discussed and answered some of the units' recommendations.

After listening to the recommendations from the Department of Education and Training, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the unit continue to promote the implementation of the sector's tasks in the remaining time of the 2024-2025 school year and proactively calculate and develop tasks in the new school year, effectively implementing educational management work in the province. In particular, focusing on preparing and organizing the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and early-level enrollment.
