Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Founding of the Provincial Veterans Association (April 3, 1990 - April 3, 2025): Promoting the nature and fine traditions of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers"

Building a strong and comprehensive association

35 years ago, on April 3, 1990, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee issued a Decision to establish the Provincial Veterans Association. From 1,188 members when it was first established, operating in 90 grassroots associations, to date there have been more than 17,800 members, operating in 150 Veterans Associations of communes, wards, towns and Association of Block 487 (War Veterans Association of agencies). Of which, more than 40% of members are party members, more than 2,000 cadres and members participate in Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations. All villages and residential groups have branches and sub-associations; the method of operation has been innovated, the quality of activities has been increasingly improved. Along with that, the Veterans Association at all levels has gathered more than 25,400 veterans to participate in 605 clubs, operating effectively and in the right direction. Currently, more than 70% of Party cell secretaries, village chiefs, residential group leaders, and heads of front work committees across the province are war veterans and former soldiers.

Over 35 years of construction and development, generations of war veterans in the province have always promoted the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the tradition of "Loyalty - solidarity - exemplary - innovation" of Vietnam's war veterans, united, striving to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully completing all tasks; building a strong and comprehensive association equal to the task, affirming the position of a political - social organization trusted by the Party Committee, government and people. The provincial War Veterans Association always identifies the top important political task as protecting the Party, government, regime, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of war veterans and people. In recent times, a large number of cadres and members at all levels have always actively participated in building the political system at the grassroots level. Currently, the whole association has more than 1,500 cadres and members who are members of Party Committees at all levels; 1,460 war veterans working as cadres of villages, residential groups and grassroots organizations; More than 700 cadres and members are People's Council delegates at all levels...

Complete the tasks well

In recent times, the Association at all levels has regularly done a good job of propaganda, politicaleducation , and ideological orientation for cadres and members; 100% of War Veterans Association members speak and act according to the Party's resolutions, are exemplary in ethics, lifestyle, and take the lead in emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Association at higher levels and localities... Currently, the entire Association has maintained and implemented the model of "Self-managed War Veterans Road" for 291 routes; 115 "War Veterans Environmental Protection Clubs"; built 240 groups, 26 teams, with 2,100 members participating in the core force at the grassroots level; implemented well the movement to prevent and combat crimes, ensure security and order, and the movement of the People Protecting National Security, contributing to bringing a peaceful life to the people...

In addition, the members of the War Veterans Association in the province always uphold the spirit of self-reliance, solidarity and mutual assistance in economic development and poverty reduction. The Association at all levels has promoted and mobilized members from poor and near-poor households to boldly borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to develop the economy. Up to now, 14,067 member households have borrowed capital, with a total outstanding debt of more than 381 billion VND. In general, the loan capital has been used by members for the right purposes and effectively, contributing to economic development, escaping poverty and becoming rich legitimately. Thanks to that, up to now, nearly 70% of war veteran households have a good and rich standard of living. The whole province has more than 250 small and medium enterprises; 275 farms; 1 cooperative, 5 cooperative groups owned by war veterans, contributing to the local budget, creating jobs for more than 10,000 war veterans and children of policy beneficiaries.

In implementing the national target program on new rural construction, members have donated nearly 9,000m2 of land to build public works; 86 member families have taken the lead in receiving compensation and clearing land to build 2 expressways, Van Phong - Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot. In addition, in 2024, the Provincial Veterans Association mobilized the construction of ⁶ "Comradely Love" houses for people with housing difficulties, with a total amount of 876 million VND. Associations at all levels have donated and supported the repair and upgrading of 16 houses for members, with a total amount of more than 266 million VND; donated nearly 138 million VND to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses for the poor in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces...

In the coming time, with pride and excitement, the provincial Association of War Veterans will continue to promote the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers". In particular, deeply imbued with the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho: "With the glorious tradition of the army, wherever you go, whatever you do, you must be exemplary...", cadres and members maintain their faith, unite to overcome all difficulties and challenges, devote all their spirit, intelligence and strength to building the association increasingly clean and strong; continue to promote the tradition of "Loyalty, solidarity, exemplary, innovation", the Association of War Veterans at all levels always deserves to be a reliable support of the Party, government, and Fatherland Front, worthy of the trust and love of the people, contributing to building the province increasingly rich, modern and civilized.
