Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution and laws, President Vo Van Thuong has just signed Decision No. 588/2023/QD-CTN approving the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil Matters between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic at the request of the Government in Submission No. 269/TTr-CP dated May 22, 2023.
The ratified agreement will contribute to modernizing the legal basis for civil judicial assistance cooperation between competent authorities of Vietnam and Laos, and at the same time supplementing regulations to perfect the legal basis for jointly implementing judicial assistance work well, contributing to strengthening the good relationship between the two countries.
The ratification of the Agreement aims to realize the policy of our Party and State on strengthening international cooperation in the fields of law and justice and perfecting the legal mechanism on protecting and defending the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and legal entities abroad in accordance with Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 of the 6th Conference of the 13th Central Committee on continuing to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law State of Vietnam in the new period./.
