Developing cultural and artistic services for tourists

In July 2020, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1129/QD-TTg approving the Project on developing the night-time economy in Vietnam, in which the immediate phase focuses on tourism development. Accordingly, night-time economic tourism is focused on two groups: the group of products associated with community culture, entertainment and the group of products associated with cultural and artistic programs.

While the product group associated with community culture and entertainment has been exploited, the product group associated with cultural and artistic programs still lacks investment attention. Therefore, it is necessary to have quality art programs and night shows with cultural depth, because culture is the soul of tourism products and the difference that tourists always aim for. In addition to the advantage of developing types of sea sports tourism and sightseeing, Binh Thuan tourism industry also focuses on exploiting the potential and promoting the value of rich and diverse cultural heritages, especially historical architectural relics and folk festival culture to attract tourists.

There are currently over 70 historical - cultural relics and landscapes in the province that have been ranked, including 28 national relics and landscapes and 4 intangible cultural heritages that have been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Along with that, folk cultural festivals have been restored and organized annually in accordance with rituals and customs, ensuring healthy folk cultural elements, meeting the needs of spiritual, cultural and religious activities of ethnic communities. Many relics and festivals have become attractive destinations for tourists, contributing to introducing the unique cultural features of the coastal residents of Binh Thuan. Not only creating strengths for the tourism industry, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality, the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage has quickly brought cultural life to ethnic minorities, maintaining and promoting the great solidarity of the whole nation. Destinations that have formed cultural tourism products, exploring relics and intangible cultural heritages can be mentioned as Duc Thanh School - where teacher Nguyen Tat Thanh once stopped to teach, the relic site of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Base during the resistance war against the US, Po Sah Inư Cham tower, Van Thuy Tu, Dinh Thay Thim, Co Thach pagoda... Typical cultural festivals of national significance such as: Kate Festival of the Cham people, Dinh Thay Thim festival in La Gi town, Nghinh Ong festival of the Chinese community, Phan Thiet city, Cau Ngu festival in Van Thuy Tu. In addition, Binh Thuan also has traditional craft villages such as pottery making, brocade weaving, knitting, rice paper making, fish sauce production. This is also a locality with many special dishes associated with the life of coastal people, specialized agricultural production areas, which are increasingly known to many tourists such as hotpot, mai fish salad, herring rolls, dried squid, rice paper rolls, dishes and drinks made from dragon fruit. Regarding the development of art to serve the development of the night economy, Binh Thuan also has a lot of potential for development.

At the Closing Ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan Green Convergence" took place on the evening of December 27, 2023. An art program was performed by more than 600 artists and actors inside and outside the province. With unique and impressive art content, imbued with the tradition and culture of Binh Thuan - South Central Coast. Creating an artistic highlight at the end of the year, contributing to serving the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of people and tourists from near and far. In order to celebrate the annual Binh Thuan Tourism Day on October 24, Binh Thuan province also organized many art programs, thereby introducing and promoting the safe, friendly and quality tourist destination of Binh Thuan to attract tourists.
