By 2024, Thanh Hoa Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (investor) has completed the investment in the construction of the Chieu Market Commercial Service Area Project in Hau Loc Town (Hau Loc) in accordance with the approved planning. The synchronous infrastructure items are associated with the construction of a service and commercial area combined with a traditional market, to meet the trading needs of people in Hau Loc district and neighboring localities. At the same time, it creates an architectural and landscape highlight for Hau Loc town, contributing to creating jobs for workers and increasing budget revenue.
It is known that the project was approved by the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3124/QD-UBND dated August 18, 2016. Accordingly, the Afternoon Market has an area of 10,477.8m2 and is built into 2 sub-areas. The local market area has an area of 6,800m2 including a main market of 1,600m2, divided into 2 areas: The covered area includes 70 business points of consumer goods which are industrial products, aiming to serve both day and night when needed. The area without walls is used for small traders selling agricultural products, food, fresh vegetables and fruits, divided into 120 business points. In addition, the project also arranges an outdoor trading area in the style of a wholesale market to import or export goods. The items have been invested synchronously such as: Fire alarm and fire fighting system, wastewater treatment area, waste collection, regulating lake... The commercial area with an area of 3,677.8m2 was built, including a 3-storey complex, with beautiful and modern architecture. Inside, there are 21 3-storey kiosks with separate functions and utilities. The construction area of each kiosk is from 150 - 200m2, meeting the needs of large businesses. A 3-storey showroom with an area of 1,100m2 located in the middle of the commercial center has modern architecture, can organize events or do business in the form of mini supermarkets, electronics supermarkets, banks, food and beverage activities and foreign language centers,...
Currently, the market has attracted about 200 regular traders, including traders from neighboring districts such as Nga Son, Hoang Hoa, Ha Trung... Mr. Le Duc Hai, manager of Chieu market, said: Although the investor has completed the construction of Chieu market according to the approved planning, put it into use early to serve the exchange of goods, promote socio-economic development and local people's lives, the market has not yet maximized its investment efficiency. The main reason is that the market has only been open for one session, and businesses have encroached on the roadside and sidewalk to sell vegetables, food, etc. in front of their houses and on the road in front of the market gate. In addition, the current development of online business forms has also affected the business of small traders in the market to some extent. In the future development direction, we will proactively overcome difficulties, submit to the competent authority for consideration to upgrade Chieu market from a class III market to a class II market in 2030 and to a class I market in 2035. Along with that, continue to expand the project to build Chieu market into a regional commercial center of the coastal districts of Hau Loc, Nga Son, and Hoang Hoa.
