In 2015, the Prime Minister decided to take March 15 every year as Vietnam Consumer Rights Day. Following the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in recent years, the work of protecting consumer rights in Thanh Hoa province has always been focused on, contributing to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of consumers and improving competitiveness, creating motivation for legitimate businesses to develop.

With the theme "Transparent Information - Safe Consumption", in 2024, the work of protecting consumer rights in the province will be organized and implemented throughout 2024; focusing on peak periods of business and consumption, shopping seasons or peak shopping days in the market.

In particular, activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day will start from the end-of-year shopping season of 2023 (December), be organized in March (peak month) and last throughout 2024.

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Duc Luong said: To protect the rights of consumers, the unit will continue to coordinate with relevant sectors, units, and media agencies to organize many practical activities such as propaganda, raising awareness of all levels, sectors, production and business units and people about protecting consumer rights. Along with that, strengthen coordination in inspection, control, and strict handling of law violators, prevent smuggling, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and trade fraud.
The Department of Industry and Trade is also coordinating with departments, branches and localities to build product comparison points, thereby gradually helping consumers evaluate the quality and effectiveness of products and goods; at the same time providing consumers with information about the origin and production process of products, contributing to creating a transparent, healthy and safe consumer market.

Every year, the Department of Industry and Trade has presided over and coordinated with the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, and media agencies to organize Vietnam Consumer Rights Day, with activities rich in content and diverse in form, such as: Organizing the launching ceremony of the month of action for consumers, marching on the streets; organizing conferences and seminars; hanging banners, flags, issuing consumer protection consultants' handbooks, printing leaflets and propaganda.

The Department of Industry and Trade also connects with the Ministry of Industry and Trade's consumer consulting and support hotline 1800-6338; publicizes a consumer protection hotline so that people can easily report when their rights are violated.
