Mount will not be for sale.

According to Manchester Evening News , Mason Mount is not on Man Utd's list of players to be released in the summer transfer window of 2025. The former Chelsea midfielder is considered suitable for coach Ruben Amorim's philosophy and the Portuguese coach has guaranteed his future in the long-term plan at Old Trafford.

Mount has returned from more than three months out with a newfound confidence. The former Chelsea star has been in training for the past three weeks and was brought on against Forest – his first game since December 15.

Although Mount was signed as a midfielder in Erik ten Hag’s 4-2-3-1, the reality is that he is better suited to the No. 10 or wide midfielder role in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1. Ten Hag himself realised his mistake and played Mount as an attacking midfielder against Brighton in August, but injury has put that plan on hold.

Amorim understands that. After the match, he frankly commented on his 26-year-old student: “If you look at Mount’s career, he has played in this system a lot, especially at Chelsea - left, right. This is a position that is very suitable for him.”

While Mount's future is assured, MU fans have already determined that one name will definitely leave this summer, that is Christian Eriksen. The Danish veteran will not have his contract renewed and is being linked with a return to Ajax.
