During more than 100 years of construction and development globally, Panasonic has always considered people as the core element and the most valuable asset of society, with the motto "perfecting people before creating products" from the founder.

In Vietnam, Panasonic is committed to creating a healthy and comfortable life for people, while contributing to the country's sustainable development through business activities and social responsibility. That is the driving force for Japanese enterprises to persistently accompany the development of future talents for Vietnam through many social responsibility activities in the field of education, typically "Panasonic Scholarship", the film making program "Through the lens of children"...

In particular, the program “Panasonic for Sustainable Schools”, initiated in April 2022, with the desire to enhance STEM experience opportunities for students and schools across Vietnam, in line with the 2018 General Education Program of the Ministry of Education and Training. After nearly 3 years of implementation, the program has become a favorite activity of students across the country, and has received support and companionship from schools, teachers and educational management levels.

Enhancing STEM experiences for Vietnamese students

Panasonic started its journey to enhance STEM education experiences for students in Vietnam with the Panasonic Risupia Vietnam Center in 2010 - a completely free modern learning space where students can explore and experience natural science subjects through practical and visual activities. Over the 11-year journey, the center has attracted nearly 900,000 visitors, becoming a favorite destination for students, teachers and parents in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

Based on the above experiences and successes, the program "Panasonic for Sustainable Schools" launched in April 2022 has transformed its operating model from on-site experience centers to online and at-school activities.

“We believe that STEM will equip the country’s future leaders with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to achieve future success, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam. The “Panasonic for Sustainable Schools” program was initiated with the desire to enhance and expand STEM experience opportunities for students not only in big cities but also in provinces across the country, while accompanying schools and teachers in teaching STEM,” said Mr. Oka Hiroyuki - Director of Panasonic Vietnam.

The “Panasonic for Sustainable Schools” program is built with a variety of activities, aiming to enhance students’ visual experiences through STEM classes with a variety of topics, new Robotics experience classes or practical environmental classes. In addition, online classes help students experience STEM freely and conveniently through the AR/VR Digital Library or get acquainted with programming and computer science.

All content is designed to help future generations raise awareness of real social, local and environmental issues, and apply STEM knowledge to come up with practical solutions.

Remarkable achievements

After nearly three years of implementation, the “Panasonic for Sustainable Schools” program has brought STEM experiences and environmental classes to nearly 82,000 students from more than 100 schools across the country, attracting thousands of students to experience online activities on digital platforms each month. In particular, the program has expanded and brought STEM closer to students of schools in remote areas that still have many difficulties in accessing STEM education. In February 2025, Panasonic signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province to implement the program over the next 2 years throughout the province.

The program has brought STEM experiences closer to schools across the country, especially in disadvantaged provinces.

In addition, Panasonic has also sponsored more than 1,000 sets of STEM practice tools and learning materials worth hundreds of millions of VND and organized sharing sessions to improve STEM teaching capacity for teachers of many schools across the country.

Not stopping there, useful playgrounds have also been regularly organized with the desire to help students maximize their creativity, teamwork skills and apply knowledge into practice to solve social problems. Typically, the second season of the contest "Creating STEM with Me" continues to be launched from February 15, 2025 to May 15, 2025, after the success of the first season.

With persistent efforts and dedication, the program “Panasonic for sustainable schools” will continue to accompany, inspire and nurture future talents and is an affirmation of Panasonic's strong commitment in the next 50-year journey, for the prosperity and sustainable development of Vietnam.
