Firm grasp of policy
Coming to Ben Den village, it is easy to see that the rural appearance here is improving. Village roads and alleys have been widened, flowers and trees are planted on both sides of the road, and the roads are all labeled...
People's houses are built in checkerboard patterns, gardens are planned, and trees of high economic value are planted. To achieve the results as today, there is a positive contribution of "Mr. Xang, the mass activist".
Remember the early days when the new rural model was first implemented, moving the gate fence to widen the sidewalk in Ben Den was one of the difficult problems.
The difficulty here is that most of the people's gate fences are built with quite solid investment capital, some houses have gate fences built with a budget of nearly 300 million VND, demolishing and moving will be very expensive. Many people hesitate to move.
As Head of the Front Work Committee (CTMT) of Ben Den village, Mr. Xang always upholds the spirit of responsibility, closeness, and grasps the thoughts and feelings of the people to propagate and mobilize.
“Slow and steady wins the race”, seeing his enthusiasm and exemplary leadership in the local movement, gradually people voluntarily dismantled the fences and donated garden land to widen the roads in the residential area. Thanks to that, most of the roads here have been widened from 5 to 7.5m, creating a spacious space.
When the Women's Union of Dien Quang commune implemented the "Flower Road" model in residential areas, Mr. Xang, together with the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Women's Union, mobilized the people of Ben Den village to build drainage ditches, then lower the curbs, plant flower beds interspersed with rows of purple crape myrtle and magnolia trees in full bloom.
Pioneer in implementation
Ben Den village is a locality with a large movement of raising cows in barns, with more than 80% of households in the village participating. Because the barns are located right in the households, in previous years, the environment in residential areas was polluted.
Although Dien Quang commune has planned a concentrated livestock farming area in the fields, because of the fear of losing property and the expense of keeping it, many people are not very interested in this policy.
With the motto of “listening to what people say, speaking so that people understand and doing so that people believe”, to reassure people, Mr. Xang is the pioneer in implementing it. Words speak, hands act, in just a short time, his family’s herd of nearly 20 beef cattle along with a stable were solidly built far from residential areas.
After a period of persistent mobilization, by the end of 2017, Ben Den village had 59 households with 130 cows moved to a concentrated livestock area. In 2018 and 2019, the task of mobilizing people to move cows to a concentrated livestock area continued to be implemented.
Up to now, the whole village has more than 100 households with 330 cows raised in concentrated breeding areas far from residential areas, returning the clean environment of a model rural residential area. At the same time, Mr. Xang also guides people to apply science and technology in fermenting food reserves for cows during the rainy season.
For more than 20 years, he has been involved in grassroots movements, from a village police officer to village chief; when the village merged, he became the Head of the Ben Den Village CTMT Committee. Everything Mr. Xang has done has brought benefits to the community. This includes mobilizing people not to burn votive paper when carrying funerals through the streets, mobilizing people to participate in social learning, raising vigilance, and implementing the movement "all people protect national security"...
Mr. Xang participates in every work and movement with great enthusiasm and responsibility, because he thinks: "As a party member, I must be a pioneer and exemplary model, doing whatever I can for the people and for life."
