BHG - "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind" is not only a slogan but has become a commitment and a consistent motto in the sustainable poverty reduction work of Bac Quang district.

In the period of 2021 - 2024, Bac Quang district has mobilized the participation of the entire political system and the people to effectively implement the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind". Notably, the Women's Union at all levels has helped 134 members start and successfully start businesses. At the same time, coordinating with the district's Social Policy Bank to help thousands of households access preferential loans of up to more than 4 billion VND for economic development. In particular, the Youth Union at all levels has promoted the movement of self-employment and career establishment. On that basis, 114 start-up models in the fields of cultivation, livestock, services and processing have been successfully built. To date, 6 start-up products of young people have been recognized as meeting 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards.

The movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" has been effectively maintained by the Farmers' Association at all levels, creating a widespread influence in the community. The whole district has 1,321 farming households achieving the title of good production and business at all levels. Many households have developed their economies on a large scale, earning from 100 million VND to more than 1 billion VND per year, not only enriching themselves but also creating jobs for many local workers. Typical examples include Mr. Sung Diu Si's household (Vinh Phuc commune) who has succeeded with the model of growing oranges and longans; Mr. Phan The Do (Vinh Tuy town) with the Cong Phu Do Khoa tea brand from high-quality Shan Tuyet tea varieties; or Ms. Mac Thi Mien (Dong Yen commune) who is the founder of Dong Yen Peanut Oil Cooperative, with two products meeting 3-star OCOP standards: Red Peanuts and Mrs. Mien's Peanut Oil.

In particular, through poverty reduction support policies under the National Target Programs, people's awareness and thinking have gradually changed. Many people have boldly approached non-agricultural activities to increase their income. Policies on preferential credit, job creation, vocational training, livelihood support, production development, education, health care, housing and social security... have brought about practical results, helping many households have stable incomes, gradually rising out of poverty sustainably. Up to now, the whole district has 800 poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households benefiting from sustainable poverty reduction projects with a total support budget of nearly 16.7 billion VND. Not only that, people have also been supported to develop 67 models and projects to diversify livelihoods and replicate poverty reduction models, focusing on developing agricultural and forestry commodity production. At the same time, they have been supported to build 56 livestock models, which have initially brought about economic efficiency. Typically, the model of raising buffaloes and cows for reproduction helped households increase their number of 86 calves; the model of raising goats for reproduction had 119 more kid goats. In particular, the project of raising black pigs for sale brought in revenue of about 6.5 billion VND when households sold nearly 70 tons of live pigs to the market.

The synchronous implementation of poverty reduction and social security policies has brought about many practical results, contributing to improving people's quality of life and promoting sustainable socio-economic development. Notably, the rate of trained workers in the district increased sharply from 60% (in 2021) to 71% in 2024. Through the organization of job fairs, career counseling days and close coordination between local authorities and businesses, Bac Quang district has oriented workers to learn vocational skills, find and create suitable jobs. To date, 11,572 workers have been provided with new jobs, opening up opportunities for sustainable poverty reduction and income increase. On the other hand, nearly 11,200 poor households have been supported with electricity bills with a total cost of over 26 billion VND, contributing to reducing the burden of essential expenses for disadvantaged households. In addition, the rate of poor and near-poor households using clean water for daily use reached nearly 92%, helping to improve living conditions and protect public health.

In the period of 2021 - 2024, Bac Quang district reduced nearly 4,300 poor households with an average reduction rate of 3.68%/year. Up to now, the whole district has 1,423 poor households, equivalent to 8.19%. This is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of poverty reduction policies and the drastic participation of the entire political system and community. Typical examples include: Xay Uoc Mo Charity Group, VPBank, Tam Long Viet Fund (VTV), Phat Quang Buddhist youth, Ms. Ha Thi Hue Chi - Vietnamese expatriate in Poland sponsored a total amount of nearly 500 million VND for Thuong Binh Boarding Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, to build facilities to improve the quality of education in extremely difficult areas. Or Mr. Pham Nhat Tan's household (Kim Ngoc commune) actively contributed sand, gravel, cash and connected sponsorship with a total value of nearly 150 million VND, helping to build rural roads and eliminate temporary houses for poor households with housing difficulties...

With outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind", the whole district has 3 collectives, 6 individuals and 8 families honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
